Regarding the suction assisted birth, I recall a creator I used to watch (was it Adam Savage?) in one video talking about his son's childbirth, and how this procedure, due to the body's positioning, crushed / tore / otherwise damaged the nerve in the baby's arm. It took a long time until the parents noticed that the baby wasn't using one of its arms at all. Medical analysis revealed that expensive surgery and then rehabilitation was needed, but the delivery hospital refused to accept liability.
