As a veteran, I can say that we are often shamed for seeking help in the past for our issues. For over 20+ years I was stuck at 20%, and then finally got the right help to getting myself up to 90%. And I feel weird for it, however when anyone who signs on the dotted line also the government is required to “fix anything that they broke” during service, to kinda dumb it down. Veterans “disability” should be recontextualized as veterans “compensation “ as that is how the payments received are allocated. Also, many don’t understand that by signing on in that dotted line, the US Government already sets aside an account if you will, should you ever be considered 100%, for any and all reasons. It’s budgeted that way.

I appreciate that Kirsche is willing to engage with ideas she doesn't like. It sucks to make hard choices, especially when it involves the likely outcome that other people will get hurt in the process. She doesn't like war, but she is able to recognize that sometimes a nation must fight enemies in other parts of the world because the alternative will be worse for everyone. It's not always clear when that time is, but I appreciate that she's nuanced enough to know that such a time exists. Stay strong and stay happy, Kirsche! This must be how early explores felt when looking upon early America's shores. The people taking the most from welfare afterwards are probably the same people who tried to get out of work while they were in, or even made everything they touched worse.
