1:16:38 On a tangent, although poodles these days are often seen as delicate or 'poncy', they were originally used as hunting and retrieving dogs. The strange stereotypical hairstyle actually resulted from hunting considerations. They needed their hair cut short so that they would be able to swim, but then they started having issues with asthma and arthritis, so some hair was left around their chest and joints to keep those specific areas warm, and the ribbon in the topknot was to make it easier to tell which dog was yours.

17:58 oh, that takes me back. The plane I used to work on had this one part where the screws to get it off had like 1cm clearance, so you had to bruise your hands gwtting back there and hope the last person didn’t tighten it too much. Theoretically you could take out the thing in front of it to make it easier, but it required a lengthy test to reinstall so it was often not worth it. Engineers, man.

3:13:33 there was a while where my unit was temporarily stationed away from our base but within the same state (being vague for op sec) and we got a stipend for food because they recognized we wouldn't be able to cook at home during that time. I saw a bunch of airmen drink that money away, but more spent it all on uber eats and stuff. I couldn't believe how expensive it was. Though there was one time where they got lost and tried to deliver on our runway and almost got shot, so that was entertaining. What I did instead was my wife and I cooked a bunch of food before I left, packaged it and I took it in a cooler with me and just ate that, then every two weeks or so when we would come back to our actual base I would come back home to restock and do it again. Between the stipend and my usual pay I was able to save up almost a whole year's salary while we were out there. Which came in handy when I got sick and had to fight with the VA when I got out while not being able to work. I got it pretty much sorted out now but I can't imagine going into that situation from living paycheck to paycheck.

2:46:32 There's a trick I use when arguing with LLMs that may be relevant in these contexts. Before reading the material, make them clearly state whether these meetings are more child-appropriate or less child-appropriate than actual school. In a general context, it would make them look foolish to claim that a political meeting should be more child-appropriate than actual school, but once they've committed to that position, it would make them look foolish to object to the reading of the school material. I know this won't be as effective as it is against LLMs, because LLMs will submit to relentless logic, but it may make them trip up a bit more blatantly for anyone watching.

Getting into omelette territory just makes things more confusing. I grew up with the super fluffy style of omelette, so a flat omelette doesn't seem like an omelette to me, it's just "eggs with stuff", and I see no substantive difference between a spanish omelette and a frittata.

Of all fatal dog attacks in 2023, 66% of them were from pitbulls. The 2 year old lilly and hollace bennard were brutally ripped apart by their parents’ pitbulls.
