Make sure to play Control in between Alan Wake 1 and 2. Its in the same universe and will add a lot to Alan Wake 2. (Its also a great game on its own.

Glad your playing Alan Wake. A fun little narrative that branches out and makes a whole connected universe to explore and digest. A perfect series for a metal gear fan (In my opinion).

This was the first game I played to make me realize that games are art. Stunning story, cool and surreal graphics, smooth gameplay with fun mechanics. So dang good!

I am VERY excited you are dipping a toe into the Remedy games universe. These became some of my favorite games of all time when I first got into them a few years back. Assuming (hopefully ) you end up liking this, here's a suggested order for future games to try: -Alan Wake 1 DLCs (they are interesting and relevant to the plot) -Alan Wake American Nightmare (one stream game, very fun villain) -Control + DLCs (the DLCs are important and relevant to what comes later) -Alan Wake 2 + DLCs (Remedy is always going above and beyond with their DLCs, you'll see) If you get to this point, you will be 100% ready for Control Resonant (Control 2, basically). Bonus games that I'm sure you would enjoy, but are less "necessary", per se: -Quantum Break (Alan Wake 2 bonus material, essentially) -Max Payne 1 and 2 (oldies, but CLASSIC cop movie silliness and melodrama) Looking forward to the next Stream!
