I think these casual domestic streams are fun, like the ironing one before. It's relaxing, once you get into it, like the whole atmosphere of chit chatting while keeping your hands busy. Gotta say credit to that tool it seemed to work pretty well and you got good at it quick. Like from zero clue about sharpening to casually rolling it back and forth while talking, ending up with some sharp knives. The ASMR aspect, well, I think good first steps! I feel like with some refinement you could capture some good kitchen sounds like you chopping stuff on the cutting board or so!

The best tool is the one you'll use. I've been using whetstones for years and that first cut after you sharpen a knife that's gone dull is always so great. The "Oh yeah, this is supposed to be effortless" moment 🧡

That was actually pretty cool to watch. I've never seen that kind of knife sharpener before and it seems to work. Kiara is the sharpest knife in the shed

All the sounds gave me big "sound effects" noises. Like a oddly satisfying chopping/grinding noise that would you would hear in a tv show or video game. An interesting stream idea! Can't wait for my knife and cutting board

Takanashi-san, this is an interesting tool. At first glance, it seemed that to sharpen the edge of this tool, you would need to roll the barrel while making delicate angle adjustments along the entire length of the blade. Otherwise, it seemed like the entire edge would not be sharpened and the knife's sharpness would not return. The instruction manual shows that the two sides of the rectangular base have two angles, 15° and 30°, so it seems important to master how to use the rectangular base. Even in average Japanese households, sharpeners are used for cheap stainless steel knives, but for exceptional sharpness, whetstones are used. If you're looking for a stainless steel knife, I personally recommend the GLOBAL brand Petty knife. It has excellent sharpness, even through tomatoes with thick skin. "You can cut with a smooth, light stroke"
