It’s actually very important to do nahida’s story quest as it reveals some crucial info about dragons. Info that will be essential to the future plot. In fact I always thought that they should have made her story quest to be a requirement for next quests. It really does give us lore without which it is hard to understand some things in main story. So It was always strange to me that they left it in a story quest. Or you can at least watch a cutscene from this quest where we talk to apep on yt. Also it would be good for you to read “before sun and moon”, a book from enkanomia. If didn’t do the quest and don’t have it in your archive just find it on genshin wiki. You won’t regret it

ngl if i can catch him when vanta is live streaming, i would personally tell him in the live chat to at least do some of the story quests(especially neuvillette's) before finishing fontaine's main plot & went to Natlan. so like- can anyone do me a favor to tell him to do some of the story quests 1st so he can further learn about the characters? i know he can do whatever he wants since its HIS schedule, but i'd be lying if i'm not a bit disappointed when i learn that he havent experienced the peak (relevant) lore drop from Nahida's 2nd SQ & only ever experiences the peak from the main quests :,D tldr what im tryna to say is : there are also peaks to enjoy in some of the story quests thats worth to experience. but ig at the end of the day, it's still his to decide TwT
