On the "no tax on tips" matter, the senate gutted it such that it applies to virtually no one. Instead of it being a withholding matter, they made it a return deduction. If you don't make enough to owe federal income tax, you're totally unaffected by the change. If you do, it's capped so that you get your taxes from tip income back on your return but only up to a point. Then, as Kirsche noted, it only applies to service industry workers rather than all workers that recieve tips. So in effect, tips are taxed ~less~ in theory but it won't mean anything to most tipped workers. Somebody dropped the ball *hard* and Big Don needs to ruin that somebody's day.
