For the VOD question, it is hard to choose a favorite bug, so I'll go with an interesting one. Burying beetles are known for being an insect that gives parental care, which is rare among non eusocial nsects. But both parents take care of the brood, which is especially unusual! What it does is it finds a suitable carcass, buries it, prepares it for the larvae, and then lays its eggs on it. But they continue to care for the grubs even after they hatch. They even feed them! In fact, behavior that is similar to begging has been observed in the grubs when they get hungry. I recommend looking more into them because I had to be brief here. Also the beetles themselves are cute. At least to me.

Grounded streams are so peak- solo or collab. Its got it all, yapping, combat, decorating, what more could a lil ruzader ask for As for the best bug- My answer is basic and simple but its Monarch Butterflies for me. I love them so much they're not only stunning but incredibly cool with insanely big migratory routes as well as intricate scales in their wings that serve as a form of mimicry while still being mildly poisonous themselves due to their exclusive milkweed diet. And have you seen their chrysalis? THEY LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE LITTLE GOLD STUDS??? and there's a specific mutation of monarch butterfly that SOMEHOW lives like NINE MONTHS??? Also they're very significant here in Mexico for cultural (they've been linked to spirits of the deceased for centuries) and sociopolitical (RIP Homero Gomez Gonzales) reasons. Getting to see them migrate in the fall, as a child, was life changing. I could only stare in awe. Theyre the best bug ever to me :)

I've never been a huge bug fan in fact, I'm very afraid of a lot of them (especially cockroaches, I have a BIIIIG PHOBIA to those and I really suffer a lot when I see one ) BUT!! I don't hate bugs in general, some are very cool and being a ruzader has helped me to see them with different eyes lmao so if I have to pick one, that would be ladybugs they're cute, rounded, smol and I love when they stand on my hand and walk around!! I like that they're -most of the times- not afraid of us ~ ohhhh and dragonflies are pwetty cool too!

I always loved how fast and free dragonflies seemed and fireflies always make me feel nostalgic and kinda wistful, but they make me happy I also punched a kid in the face once when I was like 7 for killing one in front of me Thanks for the stream!

The hawaiian happy-face spider is pretty cool. The neat thing about bugs is just how many different kinds there are -- it makes it hard to choose. Anything that doesn't mess with me or my stuff is fine by me. I like water striders too; they just look neat

My favorite bug has to be the Great Diving Beetle, I'm a sucker for anything aquatic and they have cute feathery legs!! Any moth is also a star in my book

okay finished vod- freaking love how the keep is coming along. The round door is charming and i absolutely adore the fireplace area with the little chair and table. It looks so cozy and I could imagine late scary nights they hangout there eating their supper and staying warm by the fire light. for stream question- My favorite bugs are bees! I've always found bumblebees to be absolutely adorable, as they are so pudgy and fluffy and their buzz is a deeper tone than other bees and reminds me of purring. A few years back i followed these bee rescuers on Instagram and holy shit honey bees are so crazy interesting. Their social dynamics, the geometry of their builds, the fact that almost the all the bees in the hive are female. The way the queens are made through queen jelly which they make much like they make honey from their own bodies. I could keep going, bees are so integral to our ecosystem and are such complex creatures. As a child i also loved those little roly poly bugs. They are so cute.

vod stream of thoughts: VTM- You should play the old vampire the masquerade game. I know you have perms since Flayon played it. It did a great job of being immersive and the experience was very different based on what bloodline you chose. As long as you pick a different bloodline than Flayon the pt will feel completely different from his. My fav was always Toreador which you'd probably hate since very bardcore, but malkavian's have probably the most interesting pt of all. Nosferatu is playing hard mode in my opinion but also give a pretty immersive experience of feeling like a monster reviled by the world. Elements- As far as elements my favorite has always been water and earth. Mostly influenced by Kitara when i was little as i loved the fluid nature of water and it's healing properties, symbolism water of life, and blood being mostly water. Earth secondary because it's growth of plants and food, and even shelter/protection are all derived from earth. The other reason i loved water is because growing up in a dnd/rpg household my dad and his friends had a whole codex of spells they wrote themselves. It's the one thing I asked my stepmom to send me when he died besides an old plushy from his childhood. There are some funny spells like Tribble reaction one based off star trek, but my most favorite spell was simply called Geyser. It was a high lvl cleric spell my dad wrote for me (cause I've always loved playing clerics, had one in both his good campaign and an evil one for his evil campaign) It magically opens a geyser underneath the enemy. They take both force and heat dmg and are pushed high in the air. Outside i could use it to control the terrain but using in a dungeon I'd get extra dmg from them being crashed into the ceiling forcefully by it. The spell was fun to use and I got to be creative with how we used it in different biomes. Water is cool cause it can be fluid, healing, but also solid and sharp, it can be vapor and concealing. I think the concealing nature of water fits with your idea of it having synergy with darkness, for truly the ocean depths are a black void. Obsidian- I'm not sure that they will ever add dlc, or sequel to this. It was such a niche project for their team done out of passion. It would be awesome though if they did. If you run out of stuff in Grounded though, my friends have been playing Smalland and loving it. It's similar to grounded in biome but you are a fairy instead of a child. It has all the regular building and progression of a survival game. There are some bugs/animals that aren't in grounded that would be fun to tame too. I know one of them had a scorpion which looked like the size of a horse next to them. Your build is looking so cozy! I love the round door!

Otsuruze! Ima say spiders are best because they can be cool, scary, or cute and they make pretty webs that catch the annoying bugs I don't like :3 And idk if tarantulas can be included in this but they are soft and fun to pet. Also I think it's cool that they shoot out their hairs to defend themselves

On the subject of the super-special-edgelord characters, I have to agree. 'Normal' characters are often the most fun when put into these extreme circumstances. Two of my favourite characters are my Human Fighter/Paladin who grew up in a simple village, is religious (I'm not) and HATES bandits. Not because "they killed my parents!!!" (His parents are fine) but because he just got frustrated that they kept harassing his little village and the big-city authorities don't care enough to do about it. Simple problems for a simple folk. He starts as a fighter (town guard) and eventually joins the church of Tyr as a Paladin. Second, funnily enough, is my Half-Drow! 🤣 Perhaps I just like subverting expectations, but she WAS abandoned by her parents (Her father was a semi-important male Drow and her mother was one of the human 'servants' in his political house. The mother managed to get her baby out of the Underdark 'somehow', who was eventually found by a human family). She's also a Rogue and despite ALL OF THAT she's not your typical edgey orphan rogue stereotype. She's a friendly, humble farm girl with loving (adoptive) parents who are very much still alive! I picked rogue because, at the end of the day, she's still a half-Drow, so she's had to learn to stay hidden to avoid persecution by surface society.

VOD question: Campsosternus watanabei is my favorite bug!! Its first reaction is to pretend to be dead, and then roll to the ground with its six legs retracted. If you continue to harass it, it will bounce up with a "bang". This bounce will scare the enemy, and sometimes it will seize the opportunity to fly away from the scene, and sometimes it will hide in the fallen leaves and dead branches and disappear.

As someone who grew up on Disney and loves animals, I've always liked anthropomorphic animal designs. That being said, the furry community has, more often than not, just creeped me out. They just often MAKE it creepy. Not all of them, obviously. I've just seen it often enough that I tend to keep my distance.
