Ever wrapped in fog, Ebisugaoka continues to throw Hinako and friends into turmoil as they search for a way out of this living nightmare... The fear that keeps you awake at night returns for another visit with the continuation of Silent Hill f! Sakuko's ghostly shrine maiden put to rest in the realm beyond, we catch up with Rinko and Shu on the way to the mountains. It stung hearing Hinako speak about Sakuko's wish to make the shrine as popular as humanly possible, it seemed to hold great significance. Pondering the question broken up by food discourse wasn't on my list, there is truth to be had in different kinds being tastier when warmed up or not. Moving on, the road ahead was blocked by monsters which meant a change of tactics: the middle school would be the group's next destination in order to avoid any sort of confrontation. Inbetween raising getting lost to an art form (you're not alone, me too), we catch snippets of conversation about something being too late and that there is no helping it or how fooling the other needs to be put to a stop. Shu needs to accept the reality: Hinako has passed on. But has she? It seems suspicious, smelling of a sinister plot brewing... Upon reaching the middle school, Rinko and Shu both decide to rest while Hinako pushes on. On that note, Japanese school buildings have quite the charming architecture! And make for the perfect horror game setting all the same. What caught my eye inside the locked classroom puzzle was the fact that the letters/notes Rinko wrote and hid inside the alide panel box were all unopened. As if Shu had never touched them, nor read them... Little surprise given the somewhat contrasting writing. Unless there was another reason? Either way, figuring out the combinations through the hints left in the notes was fine work! Thinking about it post-stream, what Junko said in regards to deciding your friends' worth must have been foreshadowing to events that had yet come to pass. One must imagine a burger upon trying to figure out the number combination on a locker. Or input "OOO" as a means to convey a cry for help. Your unorthodox way of solving these puzzles is a genuine breath of fresh air, yout approaches either border on the funniest I've ever seen, the most genius or both. Where I live we never even had lockers, we lugged our schoolbags around pretty much all day! That said, curious that Rinko would be the one to suggest Hinako rests adter retrieving the key for the iron gate though I suppose that was a diversion tactic to separate her from Shu. It brought us back to the Dark Shrine either way, where Fox Mask was already waiting for us. Whether or not blurring his face was intentional, I wish we could have caught a glimpse of the face without the mask... "Make arrangements" and "bid our farewells"... Who would have thought it would take on monstruous proportions such as these. In the beginning Sakuko (sharing a bit of lore that wasn't seen here), who had been overjoyed to have made her first human friend in Hinako but harbored fears of abandonment. Symbolism work went above and beyond, the darkness that took her representing not only her greatest fear but also the endless abyss that is loneliness. Afterwards, Rinko's story of her jealousy. And a tour through fart world accompanied by Bettel noises at that. Her resentment feels unwarranted, exaggerated. Naturally there are instances of girls falling for the same boy but to grow to dislike your friend to this extent? A time and a place to talk it out could have helped the both of them, perhaps the Terminator end could have been avoided then. Lastly though, we have to say our goodbyes to Shu who wished to respect Hinako's decision regardless of the outcome. If only he had taken the chance to speak to her as well. The way Hinako left them all behind, condemning them to their fate without looking back places her in a light of the unreliable narrator who appears to be hiding more than we were led to believe. On the other hand, the more likely explanation is to be found in metaphors, particularly one about leaving behind who you held dear after you've gotten married in the older times. Cue Fox Wife reassuring us there is no need to apologize for actions. So it was necessary? Waking up again in the school, a hike to the mountains up next! Finding an axe there lasted us a while before running for the (silent) hills, evading monsters and growing flora. The Torii gate repelling the fog monster stuck with me, the way it didn't offer us a chance to make out any sort of appearance. Similar happenings when entering Shu's house, that giant monster grabbing us... Didn't it wear a kimono whereas the arm bear a striking resemblance to that of a beast? I wonder... Either way, what followed after couldn't have been better described by our fox as "a path of great pain and suffering". Grueling to watch, my stomach turned inside out. Giving it a 100/10 for that alone, those scenes were fine psychological horror to mess with you and possessed deep, deep meaning. Have to appreciate you trying to lift the mood by slamming the doors in-game to Slipknot and turning the beast tranformation into the new Sonic Unleashed remaster, it turned the entire scenario before me upside down for good laughs. c: One of the many reasons what draws me to your streams and why I adore watching them, your style of entertainment can turn anything fun. Beast mode complete! Thereupon the final step awaited: walking down the aisle to complete the ceremony. You could feel the weight of that entire scene leading up to the fight against Rinko. Which in an of itself was intense! Eviscerated her in no time flat though. Back in the real world, the town's image began drastically shifting. Junko told us to decide our future for ourselves... Could she be wishing for us to not suffer the same fate as her? What I am curious about as well is the childhood memory we saw, who was the small boy? Was it Shu? Or someone else? Questions upon questions I hope we find the answer to after entering Hinako's seemingly unrecognizable childhood home. The game's been an interesting shift between Soulslike and classic horror, I look forward to the conclusion of the story! Thank you so much for the stream today, really needed that!
