I lost my father suddenly in November of 2021. We didn't get to have a funeral because of covid. I spent the next two years thinking about him every day, imagining what I would say to him if he were still here, and what I wanted to do with him. I have a lot of regrets because I wasn't able to spend enough time with him before he passed. I thought I would still have time. It takes a long time to grieve the loss of someone so important to you, but you'll know you're making progress when memories of them make you happy they were there instead of sad that they no longer are. I don't think about him every day now, but I still see him in my dreams, the same as he always was.

Sometimes letting out a good cry can feel good and cleansing so it's nice to have those moments. Sometimes when I get emotionally backed-up I'll play a game or watch a movie that I know will get all the tears out. It always feels better afterward
