DMC3 has two title drops back-to-back and they're both unironically great

The moment Mori started training with Beowulf for the adjudicator, I knew Vergil was going to be made into paste. It was a splendid fight. The chat did get pretty backseaty, but Calli dealt with it like she dealt with Vergil. I look forward to when Calli fully reveals she and Biboo have a common...interest. I saw a flicker of interest in Calli's eyes now when she looks at blue boy. Jackpot!

Character/Thematic interpretation: At the begining of this game Dante and Vergil despite superficial differnces are the same. Both were traumatized by the attack on thier home as kids where their mother died and niether has truly moved on. Both try to distance themselves from their pain through adopting a facade, Dante puts on an uncaring persona that makes a joke out of everything, believing that remaining unaffected will protect him from further pain, while Vergil tries to be a cruel and powerful demon, believing that he can protect himself from further pain through becoming strong. "Foolishness, Dante. Foolishness. Might controls everything. And without strength you cannot protect anything. Let alone yourself." While Vergil is the main villain of the story, Arkham acts surprisingly well as a foil to both characters reflecting the worst extremes of their flaws. Like Vergil's facade he is a cold, cruel monster who would do anything to gain demonic power, even the sacrifice of his own family. He then has his demonic persona as Jester, an obviously overpowered being who is literally dancing through his bullets. Jester *is* Dante taken to 11, mocking and playing around with Dante just as Dante does with others. Arkham even exists as a being between hummanity and the demonic just as both of the brothers do. As the sum of the facades both brothers need to overcome in order to grow and move past thier pain, it mkes so much sense that he could only be defeated when both brothers are willing to step out of those facades, even if momentarily, to work together. Over the course of the adventure Dante and Vergil have three battles with each other. Vergil wins the first battle solidly and funnily his battle lines calling out Dante's lack of motivation explains it well. Dante at this point really doesn't have much reason to fight Vergil. He actively tries not to care about anything do he's not really invested in the potential danger to the world or anything. Just a gut feeling that he should fight him. Vergil, despite his drive for power being a coping mechanism, does have the stronger motivation here to obtain his father's power. By the second fight the battle between them is more inconclusive and the third fight ends with Dante's victory. The difference here isn't just Dante learning to harness his demonic powers and Devil Trigger. The difference is Lady. In his interactions with her Dante begins to empathize with her and see things beyond himself. He slowly comes to understand his father's desire to protect hummanity and this helps him be able to put aside his facade in order to gain greater "motivation". Ironically while Vergil admired their father and sought his power, Dante is the one who ends up truly embodying their father's will, despite hating him at the begining of the game. Vergil by contrast refuses to truly grow and change, leading to the not only to his ultimate defeat, but the end where his own obstinancy literally dooms him to hell.

Considering the fact that the song had two singers, both you and Biboo should cover Devils Never Cry.

I had a smile on my face during the credits fight when Calli said she loved this experience and thought it was probably one of those that she would one day wish she could forget just so she could experience it all over again for the first time. Devil May Cry is definitely one of those franchises. We need more Hololive members to get motivated.

What a great series. I'm so glad that it clicked with you so you could not just complete it, but experience the stylish nature of the game. Character Action as a genre need more than just technically beating it. You're spoiling us Deadbeats. See you for DMC1. It has some rough bits, but remember that it's a RE game and older. It was one of 3 prototype options created to become RE4.

I don't think there's any problem with playing Bayonetta even if you already know the story from watching other people play it. I'd say it's fun enough that it's worth it. I watched you play DMC and I still want to play it for myself. Either way, congrats on beating the game! Always nice to add a completion to the pile.

Kazuma Kaneko from Atlus designed Dante and Vergil's Devil Trigger here in DMC3, in return, Dante appears as an enemy on Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne. So in a way, one of Mori-san's favorite game [Persona Series] is connected to her currentyl having fun series (Devil May Cry) through the Shin Megami Tensei series.

This was an amazing game Calli, you really got the gameplay down and did better than me on my first time, seriously you were doing some sick gameplay!! And all the training last stream on the statue gave you the tools to defeat Vergil in the end pretty easily once you started to use Beowulf, now i cant wait for you to play the rest of the series, thank you again for the double dose of streams Callli!!!

For a moment I thought you were gonna beat Arkham first try. You did very good for a first time player. Vergil is so powerful that you can probably breeze through the game in a single long stream if you want to.
