I loved seeing how closely you connected with The Prisoner, as I did when I played Echoes of the Eye three years ago. She has such little screen time but does so much with it. The tragedy of The Strangers is such a moving one to me. On the hope of a brighter tomorrow they sacrificed everything, and yet the shock of finding what they had made that sacrifice for wasn't what they expected upended their entire civilization. In their longing for the home they destroyed they tried to recreate it, to live in a fantasy where they had turned back the clock, yet that fantasy was ultimately empty. The inhabitants of the Starlit Cove pace uneasily in the solitude of their homes, restless even in the dead of night and yet lacking any purpose to channel that restlessness into. In the Shrouded Woodlands, even perhaps a million years after their journey originally began the Strangers still gather to mourn the home they had long ago destroyed, even as they dwell within a hollow imitation of it. But the single most haunting sequence of Echoes of the Eye to me is the lone stranger in the Endless Canyon theater. Even amidst the full splendor of the simulation the Strangers had crafted after the memory of their lost home, a lone member of their kind endlessly flips through the few still frames of the surviving reels of their home, the facsimile of what was lost still being richer, still being closer to home than the simulacrum of that facsimile in which they reside. Alone out of all the Strangers, the Prisoner recognized the hollowness of the existence they were condemning themselves to. She shared the same sorrow that consumed the rest of her race—we saw her share in their anguish in slide reel 3—yet even as fear, anger, and toxic nostalgia consumed the rest of her kind as they retreated into their simulacrum of a facsimile, she kept faith in the future and took a chance to open that future for others. For that, she was condemned to an eternity of solitude, believing that nothing had come of her sacrifice—until, after hundreds of thousands of lonely years, we appear, and show her that it wasn't all for nothing, that curiosity-driven searches of two separate civilizations were built upon her shoulders. Her reaction conveys so much—relief that she could at last rest easy in the knowledge that all of her pain had amounted to something and that her kind had not foreclosed the universe from a future full of life, gratitude towards us for revealing this truth to her, and a desire to make that next final journey into the unknown together with us. She might be my favorite character in all of gaming, I'd die for her.

The whole story of the stranger and the Owlk's journey is so well crafted, the ending never fails to bring tears to my eyes, its such a beautiful and sad story.
