It should be the circumstance in which a need for mid to late term abortions is the least relevant. The usual argument against this is that going straight to a hospital would be too distressing, or that women are afraid they wouldn't be believed. Both of these statements may be true, but this should encourage us to help women to be safer and feel safer. It doesn't make sense to just accept that women won't seek medical attention after such an attack.
