If she's doing a straight flight from HND or NRT to JFK, that's about 14 hours in each direction (same for the other Japan-based members) and even longer for the ID girls who are participating (as it does not look like there are any direct flights from ID and they will need a layover)... GG (and CC since she is with her) should have one of the shortest travel times, along with Nerissa... and I hope the Air Canada issues do not impact the Canada-based members (Kronii & Ina)... I hope they all have safe, uneventful flights both to and from NY! Can't wait to see them all Saturday!!!

Japanese-style ”Napolitan” spaghetti is a uniquely developed dish in Japan. The pasta is boiled in advance, stored in the refrigerator, and then quickly reheated by stir-frying with ketchup and other ingredients upon order, making it optimized for fast service. The noodles used were made from inexpensive American wheat, resulting in a softer texture. Because of this, it evolved into something closer to a “fried pasta” in the same vein as ”yaki-soba” or ”yaki-udon”, rather than traditional Italian pasta. It was often served in cafés and other establishments where full meals were not the main focus. At least today, Japanese people do not consider this dish equivalent to Italian pasta, nor do they mistake it for authentic Neapolitan cuisine. So, we would be grateful if our Italian friends could overlook this local adaptation creation. Similarly, the California Roll is said to have been invented by Japanese chefs abroad as an adaptation to local tastes, and in Japan it has also been accepted as part of the “novelty” category of sushi. Japanese people tend to preserve traditions while at the same time embracing new ideas with a natural openness. This unconscious diversity is part of what makes Japan unique, and we would be glad if you could see us in that light.

California rolls had a brief trend in Japan about two decades ago, but they didn't become a mainstream staple like traditional sushi.
