I feel pain everytime I see a character with a minor role (even if one's a villian) in a piece of media used merely as an expensible tool to elevate the main character. I'm probably overthinking it, but I believe 99% of us are going to live lives similar to background characters, and such portrayal (conveying a sublimial ideology that some people are inherently more valuable than others) makes me uncomfortable. That’s why I can't watch hero movies anymore-unless they are well written.
