First of all thank you for the stream, I had so much fun and it was cool to learn a little bit more about Verm and Azure based on how you played them in this game! As for the vod question, in my opinion Chrono Cross has the best world building and story because they did so much to make the environment tell as much of the story as the dialogue and I was so charmed by it growing up that it helped shape my brain into the pile of goo it is today

Nier:Automata has my vote for great story. If you're willing to ruminate on meanings and messages, you're in for a good time. The twists and turns were fun to navigate. While I'm not one to replay games much, getting all the endings was worth it - even with what they make you pay for it.

Thank you for the bg3 stream!! it was super fun!!! For VOD question: i think for best worldbuilding & best story both i don't have one game that does both better than every other. in terms of best worldbuilding my favorite game of all time is def Dragon Age: Origins. I love how your sources of info are usually unreliable & have their own biases, makes everything feel much more real & like you're part of the world. As for best story, I think it would have to go to clair obscur: expedition 33. Really grabbed my heartstrings and i cried for like an hour when i got to the ending. REALLY good game.

Looking forward to the more of this! Playing this vod in the background while going through my own run is such a mood. Edit: Regarding the Vod question, I can't say it's the best but it's one I really enjoy just because I'm a star wars junkie, but I thoroughly enjoy hopping back onto swtor just to play the class story lines after taking a hiatus off the game every now and then. I just like self inserting into the star wars universe.

Thank you for the big BG3 stream! The Ruzebow rotation is such an interesting way to play your character! I haven’t played this game yet, but I really want to soon For the vod question (10:00:08), my answer is Disco Elysium. Playing that game was such an experience, I’ve never seen anything else like it. Just the way the narration is done feels like a 5 star meal to me (different facets of your psyche all chiming in with their own perspectives and priorities, weird intuitions or visions emerging, the narrator’s awesome voice)! It deals with some really depressing and messed up subjects, but it also manages to be stupidly funny as well! The characters have a lot going on, the world building felt like a plot twist, the story is this cool take on a noir investigation plot, I LOVE IT! AAAAA-

Otsuruze! Vod gang looking forward to catching up~ Vod question: The game world that fascinates me the most is Legend of Mana's even though the stories in them are anything but typical linear jrpgs writing. It's best described as a collection of short stories. The little peeks into lives lived and untold histories really hooked my imagination ✨

I play mostly story-heavy games so this is a hard one!! I love Horizon Zero Dawn, slowly piecing together how the hell humanity got to fighting robots with bows and arrows was way more deep than I expected!

Thank you for stream! I've watched many playthroughs of this game, but this one was extra fun since you were playing as your brainworms and not necessarily as a strict self-insert like many streams usually do. For the vod question, I haven't played many games, but the story and characters of The World Ends With You has always stuck with me since I played it many years ago on my now broken DSi. It's a very character-driven story, so I dunno if I could say the worldbuilding is great, but the idea of music-themed gods/angels giving second chances to dead kids by making them really step out of their comfort zone is really fascinating to me. Plus, visually, the game is so cool to look at, I love the graffiti-style design.

My answer to the VOD question: The game with the best story and worldbuilding for me is Dragon Age: Origins. It's been such a long time since I played DA:O, but I still remember so much of it. The story, characters, and world really had such a significant impact on me. Every single origin storyline was well-crafted, and the origin you choose (plus the choices you make after) truly changes the way you experience the entire story and the world of Thedas. I finished it 6 times on PC, then 4 times more on Xbox, just discovering and rediscovering everything through a different origin's POV. Every companion in Origins was also well-written and had such emotional depth to them, too; each of them holds a special place in my heart. BG3 actually captures the spirit of Dragon Age: Origins well, so maybe that's why I love it so much, too!

OtsuRuze~! Thanks for the long stream, I like tihs had a lot of characterization for the Ruzebow, for the actions they would take, it was fun learning about them like this Q: For me.. either Final Fantasy Tactics or Xenogears. Tactics is just amazing, with a lot of grey characters and no clear "good" side, and Xenogears, even tho "incomplete", still managed to leave me like "you can write a story like that???" and subsequencial Xeno series also are pretty good

Vod gang! Thank you for the stream! BG3 is one of my favorite games! It was a delight to watch you play it. Vod question, it's difficult to chose one game, but besides BG3, I'd say that Cyberpunk 2077 and Detroit Become Human had world building and acting that made me think a lot about the story for a long time.

Thank you for the stream! It was very long but it was so well thought out. Love the Ruzebow class changes etc and it made the game fun! It makes me want to play it...not sure i can commit to that long number of hours to finish it though. On top of the other games I do have to play... VOD question: Final Fantasy 13 comes to mind with the really cool world building and the lore. It's one of the FF games I did finish til the end. (Final Fantasy 9 and 10 are up there but I have yet to finish them) Have a good rest!

VOD QUESTION: FAVORITE WORLDBUILDING GOLDEN SUN. i think about it a lot ~
@alexyanlila
•4 か月前
OtsuRuze!! Rest well ✨ Vod Question: Suikoden Tierkreis was definitely one of the first RPGs that had me hooked because of the characters and unique world building and mechanics. I say unique but it was the first I’d ever encountered a world where different areas were basically merged from other worlds and one that you can recruit 108 characters! It’s also the little bits of information they feed you if you do choose to explore and recruit all the characters that made me very meticulous about collecting lore-related items. Fair warning though, I remember hearing that long time Suikoden players do consider it as a low point and an outlier in the series, but I think, as a stand alone, it has a pretty neat story, cast and world! And, I for sure know that the opening theme still makes me sob, whether it’s the instrumental or vocal version. Another one that instantly had my heart was Sands of Destruction (dystopian setting where the world is slowly turning into sand), Valkyrie Profile (this series was particularly heart wrenching for me), and Nier: Automata (in the far future, a dystopian world where androids are fighting aliens). There’s also Unicorn Overlord and Paranormasight and a ton more that immersed me in the world and story! uwu

Every time I see this game I have to remind myself, "I have more X-COM 2 dlc to play" and I keep putting it off. I've never played a Baldur's Gate. At some point I should. Re:Vod Question: most immersive story you've played.. I have a few too many that live rent free in my head. However, the FIRST story that stuck with me was from Ace Combat 5. Apart from the nearly infinite ammunition and alternate timeline. You basically rise as a rookie squadron and you earn your colors, so to speak. The soundtrack really sold it me too (one of my favorites). As much as I'd like to answer; The Last of Us part 1, Assassin's Creed: Origins, or Spider-Man (2018) - and as much as I love to plug Titanfall 2 - it's a flight simulator from the PS2.

otsuruze~ thanks for the long stream! i am super sold on this game now and i definitely wanna get it when it goes on sale one day 😂 i feel like all I've seen is ruze DM-ing in DND so it's fun to be able to see him as a player!! this has been so much fun! plus the ruzebow multiclass is such a chaotic and great idea!! vod question: man... I've played lots of games with stories i really liked but maybe Outer Wilds is my favorite! the way the different planents work...the way you as the player explore them and discover the lore. such great writing!! i highly recommend it for anyone interested in space exploration games with a hint of mystery ? solving.

VOD QUESTION Darksiders got me into world building/lore while Dragon Age: Origins made me fall in love with world building, characters, and lore. BG3 tho showed my that D&D type games share that but they have more Side Quests, that I love doing most, which are short stories in themselves. lol 😅

Thank you for the epic stream!!!! Even if Lae'zel will never win a popularity contest I'm grateful you gave her a chance for a little bit. I hope you sometime watch or play through her story. As for the vod question; the best story world building game for me is unequivocally Dragon Age Origins. It is a type of rpg that people just do not make anymore. Having a complex dark fantasy world with a lot of nuance, and than making many origins with completely different starting experiences. This also changes how every other npc treats you in the game. It has so much replay ability, so much lore, and so many deeply emotional moments. It was the first game that at the end I just cried because my choices, not some forced fate, had led me to a truly tragic end. I than replayed it and had an ending that was super satisfying, and again with a complex ending that is hard to describe. The companions are flawed and have unique perspectives that feel super real because they are anchored in the worlds lore and their backgrounds. The only games that got close to that for me ever again were Mass Effect2, Pillars of Eternity, and Dragon Age Inquisition, and yet all of those got rid of true unique origin gameplay. Even BG3 doesn't have origins like that. Where you feel invested because as a city elf it is literally your family facing slavery, or as a dwarf you face your own brothers, or as a mage the complex politics of the tower and the extreme bigotry you face outside the tower. Each origin isn't just a little blurb in your profile or character sheet, it's something you experience and than makes it more personal and investing.

otsu thank you for the stream~ vod question: story and characters are the number 1 thing for me when it comes to games, so games with my favorite story are just my Favorite Games. i'll give you a 3-for-one: my favorite games are Persona 3 Portable, The World Ends With You, and 999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors. p3p's themes deeply resonate with me, twewy has some of the best character writing i've seen in a video game, and 999 is mind-bending and the writer/director is one of the best to ever do it (however you NEED to go in blind and play it on the original hardware for the best experience)

【💢What Videogame story stuck out to you the most?】 Definitely NieR:Automata, it's prolly a more popular answer but I don't mind! Played that game at a really low part of my life and the topics it talks about gave me strength to keep going and rethink my life. So I value those games a lot (even if Yoko Taro is a little FREAK) Because I'd feel bad not to mention it I also wanna shoutout SOMA! It's a horror game that questions what it means to be concious and it's by far the game I've watched the most analysis videos about. What I really like about it is how real it feels, its themes could become reality one day. it doesn't overdramatise anything either, it just shares a story of how humanity could go out one day and I find that really interesting but also scary. Once you play it/ watch a let's play it kind of never leaves your side. Raaa of course the moment I go to bed we meet my wife Karlach It was a really cozy time though, thank you for the early EU stream Ruze
