On the Special Ed thing, the teachers in charge there are not great people. Not necessarily assholes, but sometimes themselves even more socially inept than the kids they're supposed to be supervising. I will never forget the time one of them decided the middle of class was the perfect time to talk to this one kid about how he apparently was caught masturbating in the school bathrooms. It wasn't a big class, only a few students, but we could hear every word of that conversation and I think it was the quietest any of us had ever been.
