Since you mentioned hankering for turn-based strategy games, I'd like to recommend Tactical Breach Wizards - it's an X-com like indie game with lots of humour and great writing in addition to very fun gameplay! Also War of the Lions isn't the sequel to FF Tactics, it's a remake that adds a few tidbits of content along with cutscenes, voice-overs, and a new translation (the one part fof the remake that is considered "controversial" rather than a net positive among fans, but that's fueled a good deal by nostalgia). So if you have the original FFT and WOTL both, no need to play the older version unless you intend to play both and compare.

Fire Emblem mention?! My first was FE: Awakening (The one with Robin) and will always be my favorite (tho the second half does feel a tiny bit isekai-ish)! Followed by FE: SOV which I feel comfortable enough to recommend to you. It's a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden that was JP only on Famicom in the 90's.
