And so Life is Strange comes to an end... I personally chose the Sacrifice Chloe ending, not because I was weighing Chloe's life against the town, but because it just felt more right. Everything's been building up to this moment of epiphany that Max has to let go, and the truth Max has been ignoring just kept getting louder and louder until it became a literal storm. Max is a character with a lot of regrets in life, always doubting herself and the decisions she makes, and her time powers really bring that character trait to the forefront. Like she tells herself in her nightmare, she wants everything to be perfect... but life just isn't like that, and the more she runs away from that the worse things get- even outside of her powers, her decision to ghost Chloe for years ends up eating at her and sets Chloe down the path of self-destruction. Only through directly facing things head on can she find inner peace, or at least that's my interpretation. As for her powers, rather than a tool to change the past, I like to think of them as a gift from some higher power, or maybe even Chloe's spirit itself, that let Max make up for lost time with her best friend and resolve her complicated feelings about their relationship. I think the funeral, though tragic, is a hopeful ending since Max has found new strength to live on and knows that nothing can take away the Chloe that still lives in her heart. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the game! There's lots to think about even outside of the yuri; it's by no means a flawless game, but I like how the game wasn't afraid to make characters flawed and leave a lot of room on the table for the players to come to their own conclusions about how they feel about them.

Thanks for this great journey of me getting to revisit this game again. When I first saw this I didn't like the characters much, and I still kind of don't tbh, but I do like the impact and weight the game carriied, so it's always left an impression on me. Honestly the ending with sacrificing Chloe is always the ending for me because throughout the game we are always saving Chloe, making our decisions to help and save her, but in this ending, she saves everyone, through HER choice and decision. I thought that was some nice character development, and I think it carries the message of the game a bit stronger. Even though we lose her still, we also got to share memories with her that we really shouldn't have even gotten to experience and that's why it's enough for me personally. No matter what ending you choose it's the real one to you though, so I like the settlement. Anyway text wall but thanks for the stream, hope all you work goes well, and see you next week for more Dark Souls!

Sacrificing Chloe doesn't just mean she dies. It means she dies not knowing what she and Max really went through. It means that she never finds out what really happened to Rachel. It means that she dies thinking that everyone she loved abandoned her.
