As an Italian from the north region of the Romance Empire I can confirm it's pretty hard to understand sicilian, so Raora is not a fakeh Italian 😊

Also for those wondering at 2:45:33 : the term "Pizzu", and the corresponding Italian "Pizzo", which is the racket-extortion typical of Italian mafia, comes from the archaic Sicilian term for the beak of a small bird. So when a mafioso would go to someone and requested cash for the "protection business", he would often use the phrase "Fari vagnari a pizzu", literally "wetting my beak", as if implying he's not going to take much, just dipping into the earnings like a sparrow dipping its beak in a water fountain... More fun historical facts: - the reason why lemons are represented so much in cutscenes, is because lemon cultivation was one of the oldest "industries" where the Mafia took hold, since a lemon tree takes ten years of more before bearing fruits, orchards were prime "weak targets" for intimidation...either pay the pizzo, or have your trees cut, and even if you replanted them, they wouldn't bear fruits for another generation, so landowners would rather pay than risk being ruined - Other typical income sources were the mines of sulphur (like the one in the prologue) or volcanic ash (used for high quality concrete), the sale of water in inner parts of Sicily (which has few rivers and lakes, so all water comes from wells), and transportation of goods (brigands were a plague since the days of the Unification...but they didn't attack carriages under protection of the local Don, usually) - The term "Don" at the time didn't identify strictly a mafia leader, but it was a generic term for a gentleman with properties (like farmland, mining rights, industries etc.) and thus didn't need to work directly, so Don Spataro and Don Turrisi would still be Don even if they weren't mafiosi, simply because one owned the Collezolfo mine, and the other the Turrisi estate - While not a 1 to 1 representation, the map is inspired by real places...Collezolfo is Caltanissetta, Porto Almaro is Cefalù, The Mountain is Etna, the temple complex is La Valle dei Templi and Lake Efesto is Lake of Pergusa. This results in a "contracted" map, since Caltanissetta is smack in the middle of Sicily, Cefalù is on the Northern shore, and Etna is all the way to the east of the island

Nice to see that you're playing this in the Sicilian dub. I'm sure that like any of the previous Mafia games, the VA in the original English cast is likely very good, but I'm surprised that Sicilian is the dub rather than the other way around. Fortunately the Sicilian dub is also insanely well-casted and fits the look of the original VAs very well.

Just as clarification for those legitimately wondering: Sicilian isn't simply a dialect of Standard Italian. It's actually its own language. Same with Neapolitan and others in the country. They are all Italian languages, not dialects.
