Ray-chan the history progression is slow, so dont worry. The game goal is to redecorate all the dry place into a more green a beautiful place. Also you have to meet pokemon, by growing grass in the different ways to atract other pokemon that will teach you new things.

You only need a Switch 2 with Pokopia (Host) then a switch 1 (visitor) you can gameshare both the same game and play cooperative. Dont worry, you can look more information later and play together with Reika :Chu:
