And thus, the overture reaches its conclusion... The melody of adventure disappearing with the sunrise, a new tale spun that will shape the future of the past. Tick-tock, tick-tock, the handles of the clock echoed. Arlecchino's imposing figure drops into the crimson stained water, body broken as he draws his last breath. Romeo freed, resting peacefully on Lea's lap as she cares for him. And our hero disappeared as he arrived, in a mysterious blue glow enveloping him. Eough theatrics though, the arduous battle is over at long last!! Arlecchino has been clocked, the overtime shift is no more! A clear mind was key to victory, studying yesterday's VOD offered invaluable insights as well. As I said before, slow and steady wins the race! Each new attempt produced steady progress, giving way to consistent appearances of the boss's second phase for opportunities to study the moveset, analyze it and strategize on how to counter it. And a few hours in, the first phase you knew like the back of your hand! Had it down to a science. Smart move keeping the voicelines on, it helped create attack cues for the specific moves and turned them into a sort of mnemonic. Still, what a relentless opponent. Barely chances for an opening to strike, a whirlwind of attacks; not to mention the fact that each phase posed as two entirely different boss battles. Nothing alike at all! Fitting for a final challenge though. Meanwhile Flay was an absolute gem, arriving in the hour of need to join on call to give the motivation needed to push through to the bitter end. He did it the special Flay way, empowering through taunting and generally just talking - a better friend you couldn't ask for, he's such a sweetheart for staying and encouraging you all while talking about the fantastic cover you two released! Even Tavi gave a small jumpscare joining the call to praise the wonderful work from the both of you. Speaking of that cover, it blew me away! Melancholic beauty accompanied by soft vocals, a recipe for goosebumps. Not kidding when I say you sounded as though you were two angels of music, those harmonies gave me chills. Softer songs such as this suit you incredibly well, owing it your deep voices creating a feeling of being held in a warm, gentle embrace. It's such a fitting choice too considering how much Lies of P means to you as a Soulslike, it took you as well as us fans on a journey across a somber fairytale world facing a crisis. What a surprise hearing the cover was your idea, Betsy! But despite the DLC dropping put of nowhere during the awards show, you doubled down and delivered a most beautiful result, truly! With that, another game struck off the list! Lies of P counted among my favorite series of playthroughs you've done, it feels satisfying and strange both to bid it farewell now after all this time. Who knows, it might not be the end of it! As it stands, my heartfelt congratulations on clearing the DLC in spectacular fashion, that's my king of Soulslikes for ya! Uniting determination and gaming unlike anything I've seen before. Thank you for taking us along for the ride Betsy, it has been a pleasure and an honor to join you for these marathon sessions from start to finish! Given that it is 5 am as I'm typing this, I wish you a lovely time off during your vacation!!
