ive been playing this game. learning alongside you and playing this with your stream on is such a blessing, cuz you know exactly the right questions to ask and how to experiment, which is such an enviable skill. thanks for helping me start my programming journey (also if you say youre dumb then i dont even wanna think where i place on the intelligence scale)

Thank you for the stream, it's fun watching you learn! I get bad information overload with these kinds of things, so I think it's impressive that you have been doing so well and making good progress! Also, I'm down for multiple days of the same game!

Wow. Had to leave early but you ended up getting the pumpkin field running well by the end, congrats! Said it during stream, but pumpkins is where this game starts getting tricky. Grass teaches you to check before harvesting, bushes teach you to actively plant, carrots teach you to check the soil, that's all relatively easy. Trees teach you to find if a number is even or uneven, still pretty doable. But pumpkins need you to do planting and then checking the dead pumpkins separately, at least for higher efficiency. There is of course a more elegant way to solve the issue you were running into with some pumpkins not growing fast enough to make it in time for the harvest, but the flips works pretty nicely as a quick solution 😄 After pumpkins it gets more complicated again. That is where stuff like lists and especially variables are gonna be handy to have. Functions don't actually let you do a lot that you couldn't do before, but they are definitely a gamechanger for writing code more easily. When programming, it's standard to put bits of code that you use often in different places into its own function so you're not re-writing or copy-pasting the same lines of code all the time. Aside from that, it can also make your code MUCH cleaner. Personally I wouldn't mind it at all if you streamed one game several times in a row. If you feel that it would make it more fun for you because it's easier to learn and stay into the groove that way, then I'm all for it Anyways, thanks for streaming Roca! I really enjoyed watching you learn some more Python and getting over the first two real hurdles

I couldn't catch this stream live, but this was a very fun stream. I'm really proud of how much progress you've made over these last two streams. And don't worry, things not working out at first and having to restart an approach is a normal thing in programming. I'm working on a game right now, and I've had to scrap or rework parts of my code several times because things didn't function the way that I wanted it to. So yeah, it's very normal. xD Also, regarding streaming the same game multiple times a week, I'm all for it. Thanks for the stream!

I know it's been a while since the stream, but I just wanted to say as a programmer it's been fun watching the VODs. Touching on some parts at the end, functions are very useful for organizing and reusing code. While they don't let you do anything new, I'd suggest getting used to using them to break up your code into shorter bits that are easier to understand and test. Also, if you haven't improved your pumpkin code yet, I would suggest looking into variables. I won't say much so I don't give away the answer I'm thinking of, but I think they'd be very helpful (but not required, if you found a different solution I'm excited to see it).

programming is hard work. difficult to learn and not really rewarding once you get good. any work that you can finish in one day is much more rewarding. for example, you get an order or a request and you go away, do the work and it's done. there is a clear start and a clear finish to the job. with programming, the work never really ends. that's the worst part. in almost all cases, you're trying to build a world that's barely being held together by hope, prayers and spiderwebs.
