Elden Ring is always a treat to watch. Feel free to fight some other bosses to get stronger or go full tryhard and just try her again and again until you win, both are valid options

I know this might sound weird, but I really enjoy falling asleep listening to you yap. Helps keep my own mind from wandering and keeping me up. The first half hour or so yapping over the Elden Ring title screen music is my favorite part of these streams. I know this isn't intended to be ASMR (oddly enough I don't tend to like actual ASMR) but it helps me sleep.

The input reading is why the original prisoner spell is actually good. You cast it and it summons a blade that fires off like a missile but after they already dodged, you can just spam like 10 of them and most will hit.

Malenia aka the sliceler is easily the most punishing boss in the game, especially for casters or really any build that requires you to charge an attack. I found myself having to respec for her fight. Don't worry too much about defeating her right now. You can always come back later or just skip the fight entirely. Ty for the stream Nimi

you can easily cheese malenia with night comet sorceries, because she cannot input read those. the fire part of the sword of night and flame is also hard for her to dodge

Malenia was the first boss in Elden Ring that truly took me a long time to defeat. I probably spent 3 days of 4+ hours just fighting her. Don’t be discouraged, she is definitely the hardest boss in the game by a mile but once you beat her you can do anything

i know backseating can be very annoying, so I'm putting this analysis here for me more than for Nimi, just to get the itch out of my brain: -Malenia only dodges the moment you create a projectile, but rancor is slow, so two in a row can actually make her dodge at the correct time to avoid some of the first casting. One charged rancor would be more effective. -Rancor has a difficult time finding its targets up close. It needs distance to converge, so it's good for long range. -At medium range her flame is a fantastic damage dealer. The trick is judging when Malenia is in range but not about to pounce. -The "slicer" (waterfowl dance) is by far the hardest part of Malenia's fight. It's essentially composed of her bouncing at you while slashing. The easiest way I've found to deal with it if you're not too close is to sprint screaming away from her first two bounces while she picks up momentum, then time a dodge INTO her to make the third one overshoot. If Malenia revvs it up when you're really close, you don't have time to run. I know frost pots and spinning under her can theoretically counter it while she's up close, but both require very good reflexes that I do not have. -Nimi has tools for long and medium range, but she is not comfortable enough with her sword to do much up close, which gives Malenia a lot of leeway to overwhelm her. -Nimi is likely going to need more mana potions if she's going to win with her current setup. -If a change of tactics is in order, spells like Night shard and Night comet are very effective against Malenia, since she cannot dodge them. Carian phalanx can be okay as well. -it is natural to dodge backwards to make space, but some of Malenia's attacks are built to punish that. Sometimes side or even forward rolling will work better.
