To answer Calli's question of why characters in the series have such silly names, it's because Toriyama was a goofball. He actually said he named Piccolo and his siblings after instruments because he thought it would be funny if the big bad villains had cute/silly names, to juxtapose their scary, brutal nature.

I like how Gohan is usually depicted as wearing purple/blue the same way Goku & friends wear red/orange - he sees Piccolo as his teacher to honor the same way the others wear the colours of Roshi's "Turtle School". Kami and King Piccolo split from being one Namekian when he was younger, as it was the condition that he get rid of his "bad" parts in order for him to suceed the old Kami before him. He created the Dragon Balls before the split, which is why if one of them dies, the other die too, and Dragon Balls only work as long as their creator is alive. As old geezers, Kami trains kid Goku to fight and kill King Piccolo, and the "end" of the "regular" pre-Z Dragon Ball is about Goku and Piccolo's reincarnation/son having their big duel at the world martial arts tournament. This exists in the game as a DLC, which I highly recommend playing as it shows how Tien and his pikachu became buddies with the main cast, or how Chi-Chi "proposed" to Goku. 3:03:10 Use the Force, Goku. Life creates it, makes it grow. A powerful ally it is. But maybe don't take Kami on piggyback rides in the swamp.

I know it's a video game, but the anime REALLY did a better job conveying Piccolo's sacrifice.. The game makes it look like Gohan really helped, but in the anime Gohan completely choked, didn't help at all and stood frozen in fear as Nappa fired his blast, and Piccolo STILL chose to jump in the way and save Gohan! It's a majorly impactful scene because is shows that, 1. Piccolo's affection towards Gohan is not dependent on Gohan's usefulness in a fight. 2. Gohan is motivated not only to get stronger, but more importantly to get BRAVER!

Calli's adventure in Dragon Ball has been very fun, like her reactions to most of the things chat grew up with has been entertaining and funny. Whether it was her reaction to Gohan going Giant Ape in the game to her liking Yamcha only for him to die to even her going so deep into her taking care of Gohan arc that she HAS to dive into her inner Piccolo lol. Really, this whole playthrough is looking better and better with every second and with Calli being more into the story, it just screams Mowi invested mode! Either way, another fun stream and no OBS hiccups so yay. Great playing Calli!
