Week in Review as it lives and breathes with a plethora of discussion topics ranging from the categorization of holidays and how Nascats will become the hottest thing since sliced bread to how to break the Dr. Who-tuber into a multiverse with diverging plotlines, texting styles and everyone sharing their nightmares! Wonder if The Beings will pay me a visit tonight, would love an autograph from them. The start of the year is always that sluggish period where motivation struggles to stay consistently high, give it a few months until it all becomes increasingly busy and bustling again. Better to start slow than crash head on in! That said, those couple collabs last week were incredibly fun, the Lego Party one will remain a treasure to me forever even with the mic peaking screams. The louder they were, the funnier it was! Did not expect to be delving into fanfiction tropes this fine Tuesday, then again Week in Review has been known to have an educational section here and there. Which brought us to some good old beef, nothing is worse than having people talking about something you do not possess knowledge of and when asked to be told, refuse to indulge you. Even when it is something you might not want to know about in retropesct, it's better to be told to judge it for yourself. Changing into gaming talk, happy to hear you beat and enjoyed your playthrough of Baldur's Gate! Turning into an alien, weighing the consequences of your actions to arrive at the conclusion of not continuing this life and ending it all in the style of saying "My work here is done" sounds like something very you and like something you would 100% get up to in your shenanigans. What caught my attention in particular during your recounting of your tales was the fact you had the option to be a full-fledged villain to the core and living with the choice. Not something you see often in games these days (at least by my observation), for player characters in particular! And class systems are such a staple for any kind of RPG, love them to bits with the variety available. From versatile mages to warriors of all kinds, there's a pick for everybody. Your talk has piqued my interest, I'll see if I can't find a playthrough of it somewhere! With burnout it tends to sneak up on you faster than you anticipate, doesn't it? And in the end it's your body having to run a manual shutdown on you in order to tell you to take it slow... Never pleasant when that happens. At least now is a good point in time to restore the energy tanks before it's time to go back to hitting the gas! Movie talk was great to listen to as per usual, had a big old relatable moment when you spoke about music and how you're stuck in an in-between state where no repeats from bands you're into work. While mine has been more a state of listening to the same thing over and over, the difficulty of finding new stuff that'll catch your attention felt too real. Particularly when your music taste is a jumbled mess of genres, some sticking out more than others due to them being what you are mainly into. Video game OSTs save me in that regard, though those tend to function more as background noise for me when I'm working on things like drawings. Keeps the minds perfectly occupied while not taking away too much attention from the art. Plus - and I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment - video game soundtracks are impactful in the sense that aside from story leaving an impression, it's the music what you think of when talking about games! Gaming and music go hand in hand. Schedule's looking to be filled with good times all around, very excited for the collabs, some more Soulslike gaming and the watchalong! The holiday ranking part of the stream took me out, instead of being entirely erased from my memory I will have Valentine's Day written down in my mind as locking in and preparing for later days to unite against common enemies. That's true love. To each their own in regards to taste, however not saying no to more Jellybeans for me during Easter! One of my favorite sweets, not as prevalent here as we have chocolate shaped bunnies from Lindt and the like as gifts for that holiday. How you nailed the narration for the Independence Day movie along with the release year was sick, when it comes to movie knowledge yours is truly second to none! All too real moment no. 2 during stream was realizing how I too miss the times when my parents would sit in the living room, watching whatever was on cable TV and switching between channels. Best of times when your cartoons came on, either after class or during the weekend. Early Spongebob was my constant companion growing up. That aside, you discovered peak from Electronic Mail and expanded on Vtuber concepts! Fingers crossed someone takes notes on the Who-tuber, we need to see all generations rise and fall until the eventual split off happens when the sixth of the name debuts and his predecessor inevitably runs to establish his own identity. Peak cinema in the making. Texting styles are so vastly different across the board, it's crazy! Yet there are some similarities to be found. I can see the advantage in prefering calls over texts, it saves you the trouble of writing a novel (as I am writing a comment novel myself here) to a friend when you could just speak to them. Although I'm much better at expressing myself in written form, it gives me time to think on my responses and what I want to tell the person I am talking to. With you though on needing to hear the intent in a spoken context, as a chronic overthinker myself it's much easier on the soul when I do not know the person well enough. What a wild conversation snippet from you and Mamagoose, the hairless animal thematic gave me a good laugh! Exclamation points in texting spark joy to me, meanwhile when the goofy person turns serious you know it's over. On another note, no idea where it came from to label 30 years in age as old. Never understood it and never will, to me that's the point where life begins to flourish after finishing school, finding stability in your working situation and figuring out the rest as you go. Nightmare talk reminded how scary it can be to sleep at night, worst scenarios I had while asleep is that feeling of waking up as if you were dropped from a height and it feels like the air gets pushed out of your lungs. Or like a small heart attack. No stranger to closet demons, window demons or peripheral vision man either or those patterns/round colored circles your eyes make up after opening them. As well as those dreams that you do not wish to get out of, regardless of their content. The power of imagination and dreams is a strong one. Video calls are awful and make me feel self-conscious about myself, I never know what to do with myself during these and end up staring into the void. Makes me dread the work meetings each time... Thank you so much for the stream today, great talking with you! Had a rough day and being here is my happy place where my mood improves in a heartbeat. Take care Betsy, have a great rest of your day and see you! 💙

Putting this here after the fact but this WiR zatsu was legitimately healing, i still had a mountain of work after but I felt lighter & less dragged down by the stress of it all after shootin the breeze commiserating about sleep trouble/family stuff& listening to stream (also not ashamed to admit I perked up at the mention of you doin some singing in the near future at the very end like someone’s dog hearing ‘walkies’ ) fr though if the burn out is catching up with you at any point, do whatever you need to recalibrate

Welcome back. Bettel! Burnout’s a hell of a thing — take your time getting back into the swing of things, whatever that looks like for you.💜

Thanks for the stream, Bettel! Can't believe a guy who used to eat like you do doesn't like Easter candies. You can think of Christmas as Jesus's bday and Easter as his August 19th Burnout is rough; take care, and we'll still have lots of fun

Thank you for the stream!! I loved hearing about your BG3 adventures, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I wonder if you would like Disco Elysium, I know it’s a weird title but it’s a super unique CRPG about investigating a murder. Genuinely one of my favourite games of all time!! Take care, I hope the burnout goes away soon.
