I think it is the feeling of aging out or feeling stuck in life. A lot of otakus who turn 40 don't want to be at the old creepy guy surrounded by younger fans. It's low key why I wish I was married and had a kid to enjoy stuff with. I'm only in my late 20s. Also gf/wife jealousy
