Even as someone who hasn't played any of the other DK games I enjoyed this game so much! Especially the last stretch. It's very nice watching someone who grew up with them react to all the hype moments. Switch 2 generation has started for real with one of the best platformers ever made

didn’t watch live because i was playing the game myself, but you better believe as soon as i got to THAT part i zoomed over here to see gibby’s reaction to it knowing how much he loves the donkey kong franchise. it was absolutely worth it 🥹

I'll just say that if Donkey Kong beats Expedition 33 for GOTY... I'll be feeling a certain way. Because you have two games that represent different things. In a modern market, when Nintendo kicked off a price increase, and here comes Sandfall with their $50 game that undercuts Nintendo. Both games look great! I predict this is gonna turn into a battle of "who has the bigger install base." Donkey Kong brings HEAVY nostalgia that lands really well. While Expedition 33 presents a fantastic story as a JRPG (I mean people have been talkin' about it!). I can't wait to see what other games have to take on these two titles.
