Great work clearing Routine Shiori You did great I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the game, I didn't pick up on any of the religious or time symbolism at all So your insight on that was really nice My read on the story was the game has three parts to it: 1979 PRISM lunar expedition, the 1999 Union Plaza incident, and this 2025 PRISM return expedition The 1979 PRISM expedition is the most straightforward of the three. Basically an organization called PRISM built a base on the moon and began exploring it, and in the process discovered Creature A and B which we run into in game. They had discovered that Creature A existed first but it seems that they never had direct contact with it. They came across B because it had choked on an apple from a tree that they were growing, a note stated they had to autopsy it there as it was too large to move. They said they collected as much of the fluids as they could but some still spilled out onto the tree, later they reported that the tree was showing severe levels of dehydration even though water levels were good and the soil was good. I took this was meant to reinforce the idea that moon organisms and earth organisms could not coexist as was mentioned by creature B choking on an apple. There was also how people wanted to go to the canal because they believed the moon needed them to become nutrients for it. I think this was a third lunar lifeform that I will call C. This lifeform seemed to some kind of plant or fungus. I think this was what was responsible for people wanting to go to the canal after making themselves primed for growth. There are parasitic fungi out there that can control behaviors of insects, so considering this is Sci-Fi I would say it's possible for more complex lifeforms I think A and B are also effected but not to the same extent that the humans were. At most I would say A and B would feel the need to return to the canal once they start to get close to their natural end, kinda like some animals do But it's clear the expedition ended in disaster as all members disappeared and information of it was officially hidden. We now go to the 1999 incident. This was started by someone accidently rediscovering the canal and they took video of it and uploaded it to the ASN. After which, the ASN started to exterminate all humans and dispose of their bodies I assume the company running Union Plaza had details of the 1979 PRISM expedition so that they knew that the spores from lifeform C could spread even through spacesuits, which should be completely sealed... So I'm not fully sure how it infects people But this is where the player comes in. The player is brought in to deal with the ASN going rouge and disposing of people. I believe the player character is already infected before we take control as he had to be in isolation for 7 days, which if the fugus can make it through a spacesuit it surely can make it through some filtration systems. But it's clear the ASN was trying to contain the infection by deriving the fungus of what it wants, which is the humans. Now we end on the 2025 PRISM expedition... We don't know a lot about this one so most of this will be conjecture on my part. But I don't believe this is the end of the story as in the upper left hand corner of the first page of the report, there is a note that reads "Prism Archives" which implies this document we are seeing was archived at some point in time, and it is being accessed later on. The people accessing it are probably outside of the Prism Institute, which is why the report is redacted in numerous places. And finally, the people from the 1999 Union Plaza incident and the Engineer made good fertilizer as there are far more vines and flowers than any previous picture. I haven't explored any symbolism present in the game, like the blooming whiteish pinkish hollyhock flower or other imagery But I would love to see them expand on this universe

thank you for the stream miss shiori! utterly and indescribably terrifying as always! the game is truly a labour of love and it shows, i tihnk the devs really nailed the sensation of horror and helpless-ness. w/o even the jumpscares the game felt so fkn tense it was insane. i can only imagine how fkn terrifying it must've been to actually play it it kinda had the vibes of outlast/alien isolation, where your best way of defending yourself was to cover in a corner and pray it all would work out. and the first person perspective really forced you to confront the horror face to face. i loved that. i really wish to see what the dev's next project is gonna be, 'cus this was masterclass i think you're dead on w/ the birth symbolism. it might encompass more like marriage, birth, and also the effects it got on the people. i ahve a soft spot for really artsy art and the ways they presented the ideas and all the small references inbetween were insanely well done. the last line when you meet your double and they spoke of "i endure through you; you endure through me" sounded a little like a marriage vow. "through thick and thin we stay together, in each other we find purpose" sort of way and i am little confused on why the final chapter is called rebirth tho i don't inherently disagree w/ the this possibly being an analogy for the "time is cyclical"; an ouroboros as you mentioned but i feel like it's a slightly odd theme to be along side the birthing stuff. my theory would be possibly a rebirth as a sort of passing on to the next generation sort of thing. how it's sometimes said "the apple doesn't fall farm from the tree" that your kids are in some ways smaller version of yourself. and towards the end if we go into vow w/ the moon, we sort of become one of these monsters also and the new playthru is the inexperienced version of ourselves going thru the same steps as to grow up again to marry the moon. smthing like that? need to workshop it a little more i think. on the monster tho the one from chapter 5 had a wide in-scission across it's tummy area, which could be comparable to a C-section in a way. i don't know if the monster from chapter 4/6 could be linked to the father but i found the moment where it grabbed you and pointed at the screen oddly cute in a way it clearly knows that i plays the video and was trying to get you to play it for it. just to relive it of sorts? it's kinda like watching old tapes of someone's birth it clearly cared a lot to see the small flowers again. just like the one scientist that was obsessed w/ the female fesh looking thing. might actually be him now that i think about it. idk if the moon-quakes were actual birth-contractions but it sounds way too funny not to be real, thus is valid in my book overall amazing game, thank you for playing it for us! can't wait what next spoopy adventure there will be

I really liked the liminal space horror of this game. I think it might be my favorite type of horror? Something about level designs like this that invoke a sense of nostalgia if that makes sense. Also I think the funniest part of today was when you were reading notes and screamed MALE and FEMALE. The random enunciation was super funny

Thank you for the spooky stream, Shiori! Congrats on beating another game, and a very scary horror game at that. You did good on soldiering on through all the spooky stuff, it was very brave on your part to keep going through to the end. The devs really nailed the atmosphere for this game, especially for a team of only 3 developers. The game did a really good job of fostering a sense of dread and paranoia, making the player jump at pretty much every sound, even their own footsteps. It's kind of funny and a testament to how well the horror was handled, that hiding under a table or standing next to a projector screen were some of the scant few times the player could feel any real sense of relief in the game, for however temporary it may be. There were a few times I jumped while watching you going through stations. The story for this game is very intriguing but very confusing, for me at lest. I was confused for a bit as to why they kept calling the tunnel the Canal, up until they started talking about it having contractions. It's interesting that the moon is actually alive and maybe pregnant(?) in this setting. Flowers growing on the moon were also super interesting as well, though I'm not sure what they could represent beyond maybe birth or even rebirth from decay. It's also interesting that the end of Chapter 6 starts the first chapter over again and then plays the credits. Did not expect this to be a story of rebirth and the cyclical nature of time. Following a routine every time the main character wakes up. I'm curious as to who the voice in the main character's head is, whether it is their own voice or the voice of someone else who had become one with the moon. The cutscenes were a surprise but were also really cool visuals to look at. I wonder if the monsters were birthed by the moon, or if they were a sort of parasitic organism that lived on the moon and sustained themselves off of it. I am curious as to whether the monsters that stalked you were maybe the babies or the mate and child of the female creature that was kaputted by the apple, as their cries seemed almost mournful when they were alone, like they were grieving. The main reason these creatures were so hostile on sight is probably because the suit the main character uses closely resembles the suits the scientists that cut up the female subject were wearing, so they lashed out not realizing that the main character was uninvolved in these incidents. i find it kind of interesting that the first creature that chased you around knew you could activate the archives and access the footage of the female creature, displaying a high level of intelligence and understanding of how human tech worked, even if it how now idea how to access the data itself. It's kind of sad that the last time you see the creature is it kneeling in front of the archives screen mournfully watching the footage of the female creature being discovered, the video being the last thing it has of either it's mate or mother. Overall, this was a fun and very spoopy romp around the moon that we went on. Glad to know we could help you de-stress a little while playing this game. I imagine this game would have been too much for you to play on your own. Hopefully, Tamogatchi Plaza will be less stressful than this game was for you, though I remember Tamogacthi's being their own kind of stress, but we'll see. I'm looking forward to your playthrough of the VN on Sunday, if you choose to play it that is. I hope you were able to calm your nerves and have some peaceful time after the stream. Take care till next time!

Routine is a truly awesome game, 13 years in the making and well worth it they were This was my first foray into actually playing a truly scary horror game and I do not regret it in the slightest, ‘twas a peak sponsorship choice Congrats on getting through it! Strong Archiver frfr Many have gone over the timeline of events so I shall skip over that and instead go into the religious and birth allegories around me it as I find them rather interesting The mother is Eve, that much is clear, she takes the apple and commits the first sin, however…I do want to go into a little of what’s the Serpent might be in this situation. I believe it to be humanity, our arrival on the moon and delving into secrets that should not have been ours causing the kaput of this creature, the log documenting it even pointing out the apple being incompatible with “human-made produce” rather than just fruit or specific types of them. Another proof of this incompatibility is our interaction with the Mother, cutting it open, allowed some fluid to spill onto the tree. This leads to the likely initial birthing of the fungus that takes over the Moon, our interference and interaction spelled our doom. The entire birthing aspect of it too I find very intriguing, the moon’s resemblance to an egg is used very well as a basis for all of this! They keep this entire aspect really under wraps until the last parts but it really was always there, the Canal, the very first chapters being in reference to it The irony of the third chapters being called Re-Create as we shut the ASN down, thus directly recreating the cycle of events that led to this in the firsts place despite our attempts to stop it. It DOES make me wonder just how the ASN came to be, as it stands, it is effectively a farm for any unsuspecting astronauts being used as fertilizer for the continued proliferation of the flowers, was that all it ever was destined to be? When did it stop being a resort then if it wasn’t, more hypotheticals but I find the purpose of the base very fun to think about Also, interesting thing I found, looked a bit into the symbolism of Hollyhocks, which are the flower used throughout Routine on the cover and in that one video. They symbolize renewal and rebirth, fertility, and were even used in rituals for abundance. Even the Holly part of its name is derived from ‘holy’ tying back neatly to the religious theming throughout A perfect flower to use considering the theme of this game, nice lil extra tidbit there for more of how under your nose they keep it! That’s about all I have to say in regard to the themes I wanted to touch upon! Other than that though, the entire atmosphere and ambiance of this game is done SO well. Chapter 4 really was what put me in fear the most, on its own, the monster could be scary just by the fact it can be anywhere at anytime. The FACT it can go invisible is such a clever and evil decision because it takes that fear and amplifies it by magnitudes, you have to watch every corner, every step, they know exactly what they were doing and I both adore and despise it Truly appreciate ya for putting this on our radar, I look forward to whatever Lunar Software plans in the future Thank ya for the stream, Shiori!
