Another enjoyable GreyScaleX collab! Congrats to both of you on beating the game! Despite some confusion and hiccups, you both did really great at the game. This was a very entertaining stream for a very interesting game. The game does really feel like it was made to be like Little Nightmares 1 and 2 but much more improved and offering a whole lot more gameplay variety than the previous two games. The atmosphere is really cool and there are a lot of really amazing visuals throughout the game, such as the sheep turning more and more into an eldritch abomination over time. I also really like how much more open this game feels than the Little Nightmare games, being that this game takes place across the countryside and inside cityscapes as events unrelated to the characters are going off, giving it a more alive and lived in feel, as opposed to the Little Nightmares stories where the world is already desolated and everything that does happen is happening in direct relation to the characters. I kind of was expecting some more monster animals in this game, mostly because of the name, but the ones we did get had some really sick designs. I really love horror designs that are just nightmare versions of everyday creatures, twisting the familiar into something wholly alien. I would really love to see more twisted versions of creatures in this world. Hopefully the DLC, or maybe even a sequel, could provide us with more nightmare fuel in the future. I'm curious if the monster sheep was representative of the girl's own fury towards the boys, since the ending and beginning suggest that they threw her down the well to start with, which would explain why the others questioned why she helped them throughout the story and why they would get scared whenever she started acting strange. It chasing after the kids so vehemently to consume them one by one, despite there being plenty of adults for it to go after, would give credence to that idea. The creature eventually consuming the soldiers and then the little girl herself could also be interpreted as her anger towards the world at large for how it treated her, and for her own rage literally consuming her in the end, as rage can be a very self-destructive thing if left unchecked. There's also the fact that the area the sheep was shown slowly transforming in over the course of the story looks a lot like the well the girl was thrown into at the start of the story. Looking at the technology at their disposal, it does make me curious at what time in history this game is supposed to take place. The weaponry combined with the sections about trench warfare would suggest it to be between the 10s to 40s, but the pedestrian cars are a style that was common in the 60s and later. So I'm curious if there was intention behind that, or if it was just them looking at things from half a century ago and lumping them together in this fictional setting to signal it taking some point in the distant past. Thank you for streaming your POV, Shiori! Glad you didn't finish the game till the embargo was lifted on the ending, that might have been not good had you pushed through on the first day. It has to be a wild surprise to find out you have a shared experience with someone of something like almost drawing in your youths, but glad the experience worked out well for both of you in the end. This was a really nice and silly collab, and I'd like to see the two of you pick this up again in the future once the DLC has all been released. Looking forward to the big collab tomorrow and extremely excited to finally get a chance to hear your first original song! Appreciate all the work you do for us. Take care till next time!
