Good job, Shiori! It's crazy how different yogioh is now compared to when it first released, I can't really get into the new format but I enjoyed watching you learn ! You make it really fun and engaging

Amazing work today!!! Thanks for the stream Shiori! Quite an interesting day on this platform I must say with the whole chatting debacle. Great job today on the learning, and actually playing out a few matches with some folks! I still am very lost when it comes to this game, so you even just trying to make sense of it all and taking notes is just super impressive to me personally. It was nice seeing you try to take it slow during matches and figure out what you can do, and how to respond to your opponents. And you even managed to snag a few wins here and there! I know you'll say that you had assistance, and that the opponents went easy on ya, but I still think you should give yourself a pat on the back and give yourself some credit, because I do really think you're doing a great job asking questions, and working your way through to a victory. I hope the studying in the end proves to be very useful for you, and that it may even surprise you on the day of the event! No matter what, just know you'll always have my support and I will be cheering you on as hard as I can! I hope that you take care, and that tomorrow for your day off, that it is a lovely one, and that you may rest well! Thanks again for the streams, and I hope you have a lovely rest of your day Shiori!!!

Great job on the Yu-Gi-Oh training today, Shiori! You're getting a bit better at the game, and learning pretty quickly, too. Glad we could still help you out despite YT trying to stop us from backseating. They chose the worst time to do it. Thank you for the stream!

Thank you for the stream, Shiori! You're seriously learning and visibly improving. I think what could give you a better slight edge for the tourney is know what your opponents are going to run, when to interrupt them (and how) and double check the weaknesses of your own deck to protect them and line up a plan B in case you get interrupted. Other than that, keep playing and learning the cards, you can do it!! I got in the room, but sadly wasn't able to play! I wanted to scare you with some big scary boss monsters (but very cute ones) but then give you all the time to bring them down and make you fight for the win while having you learn at the same time how to tame what looks like invulnerable recycling-engines at first sight

Thanks for the stream Shiori! Glad I got a chance to duel you! I drew a Red Reboot (negates all trap activations), but didn't use it Not very helpful if the main purpose of these duels are to help your learn Labrynth is a hard deck to learn, but you'll do well in the tourney

You are making great strides in improving with your deck! You're going to show everyone that there are no pathetic cards in your deck on Saturday! Also loving how the Novelites were able to provide tips and assistance throughout. The game is complicated enough, so all the help is vital! Thanks for the stream, Shiori~n!

Thanks for the duel practice! You did really well, just need to study what has to be popped on the opponent's field and when for different archetypes (this is the hardest part of Lab, knowing what EVERYONE ELSE does) Really looking forward to the tournament day!

I've been having a lot of fun getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh recently because of your streams I played it years ago and sadly haven't been able to keep up so it's been a real learning experience dealing with all the new mechanics

You might not think it, but you really are improving Shiorin! Here are a couple of tips and reminders for mechanics since you said you were still confused: The button on the middle right of the game board tells you which player's turn it is, and what "phase" it currently is. You do draw 1 card per turn, but activating an effect in response does not count as a "turn". Whenever you activate a card and cannot do anything/are waiting, it means your opponent has a card or effect that they can potentially respond with. You can tell because on the game board there will be a red hue along the top near the cards in their hand. Any time you see the red glow, the opponent is thinking. Battle is done by comparing the numbers in whichever position the monster currently is. If both are in Attack Position (Standing Vertical) The Attack values are checked, highest wins, and the difference between them is dealt to the loser as damage. If one is in Defense Position (Horizontal. Face up or face down) the defense stat of the Horizontal monster is used instead of the Attack stat. If the Attacker wins, the monster is destroyed, but no damage is dealt. If the defender wins, no monster is destroyed, but the loser takes damage. Monsters must be Face up (image visible) to use and apply their effects. Face Down monsters only really serve to block attacks. The stats are hidden, so the opponent will not know how strong the monster is before attacking into it, and could send a monster too weak to destroy it, potentially blocking multiple attacks. Special Summon means that an effect will bring a monster out onto the field from somewhere else. Be it from the hand, from the graveyard, or even from the deck. This is not the same as a Normal Summon, which is the normal way of placing a monster onto the field, without activating any effects, or meeting any special conditions. Big Welcome's effect Special Summon's a Labrynth Monster from your deck, but requires you to return a monster to your hand afterwards. This effect is usually used to Summon Lady Labrynth, since when she returns to your hand, her condition of having a Labrynth card be activated has already been met, and lets her summon herself back onto the field. This counteracts what would generally be a downside as any other monster you summon would be sent back to hand and not remain on the field. Stove and Chandelier are cards that ask you to discard another card along side them in order to gain access to cards in your deck. This seems like a bad trade off, but consider you are directly accessing whatever card you want in that moment as opposed to hoping you draw it on your next turn. In addition to that, some of your cards have effects that happen in the graveyard, giving you ideal targets to send away. Butler, King Backjack, and Transaction Rollback are 3 great examples of cards you can send away with them. Do not be afraid to slow down and read effects again. Each of your main Labrynth monsters have effects that activate when trap cards are activated, or when a monster leaves the field due to a trap effect. Familiarizing yourself with them will help with deciding what you want in each scenario, as Labrynth is less of a "Point A to Point B" combo deck with an ideal endboard, and more of a reactive "what do I need for this opponent?" type of control deck. Good Luck Shiorin! I believe in you!

Thanks for the stream Shiori! It was kinda fun trying to type with the chat bug You're definitely improving, but if I had to give one primary point to focus on it would just be reading your cards (and the opponents when needed). You still have a problem at times of not knowing what exactly your cards are doing, and at time skims reading their effects and misunderstanding them, but everything in Yugioh is very specific about doing what they say they do, and nothing more. Also, whenever the game is asking you to activate an effect, it is ONLY the text in blue that is happening, and nothing else on the card. There were times you could have summoned a monster with your field spell but you said no thinking it was gonna destroy your own card, but that's a different effect on the card. It is a loooot to read, which is why there has been a longstanding meme about yugioh players refusing/not knowing how to read, but it is truly the most important thing to do

It's a lot of fun seeing you learn to duel. You're probably about at average duelist level tbh. It takes a lot of reading and training to really get any better, and most people don't really commit to it. But that's fine, as long as everyone has fun with it, tbh. I've also known people who get a little bit too competitive and sweaty with it, but I don't think they even have fun with it at that point. Idk, I just hope you're still getting to have fun with it, even though it is a bit overwhelming (maybe a bit more than a bit.) Anyways, good luck! Not just with Yu-Gi-Oh! stuff, but everything.

Great work today Shiori! You are getting a good grasp on your deck, no harm in still asking for help still! It's only been two or so days and you are figuring out a lot of strategy on your own still! Regardless of the results of the tourney, proud of you for being headstrong in studying for this! This is harder to learn than some college level math classes I took man... ww Take care Shiori!!!
