Thank you for the watchalong, Shiori! Watchalong streams are always a guaranteed chill and cozy time. It's cool that you managed to get perms to co-stream it. Makes things much easier for folks to follow along, especially those who are on mobile and can't watch two streams at the same time. It's just unfortunate that YT decided to start having issues during both your stream and the actual showcases stream. Thank you for helping to shine a spotlight on so many indie games. The thing I love about indie games the most is how they are able to experiment and take their games in directions that big name studios would never dare go. There is so much creative freedom in these studios and their games, but with that freedom comes the unfortunate side effect of very limited marketing. Showcase streams like this, and by extension co-streamers such as yourself, go the extra distance in getting so many wonderful little indie games the spotlight they so desperately need and deserve. That being said, I went into this without any expectations and there were a few that did catch my eye. The games I ended up being most interested in were: Denshattack, Froggy Hates Snow, Soul Quest, Luna Abyss, Vultures Scavengers of Death, Call of the Elder Gods, Dark Cards of Candlewood, Let's Build a Dungeon, and Grim Trials. Whether the games interested me or not, I hope all the games showed here go on to be super successful. The world could do with more fun, interesting, and creative ideas. I can personally relate to going through thrift store and just looking at all the old stuff they have setting out. I also like going to antique stores for that very reason. It's really cool to see so many items from years long past. To think that some of the stuff sitting on those shelves is several generations of families old, if not even older than that, is something that will always fascinate me. Being able to see and touch things that have survived so many different eras throughout a country's history is an interestingly humble thing to think about. I especially love items that have advertisements or even pictures, like postcards or just straight up normal photos, that depict a snapshot of a time and culture completely foreign to what we have now, despite being rooted in the same place, is a really cool time capsule and an interesting showcase of how much things have changed over time. For the topic of people taking better care of game characters than themselves, I have definitely seen people who could fit that bill. Video games have to work within a certain logic that has rigidity to it that real life does not. Games will have things like bars and stats that you can accurately gauge how well you are doing in taking care of something, and seeing the number go up and create a dopamine effect that encourages you to keep going and make sure that the character is doing as well as possible. Real life does not have such a gamification of survival and personal care so there would be less of an incentive, less of a dopamine rush, for certain folks to try and keep a healthy momentum going. There have been actual attempts to find engaging ways to get people to care for themselves better, but I believe much of it has had varying levels of success up to this point. For myself, it was very difficult to set up a healthy-ish routine, so I had to put in a lot of effort to hardwire my brain to just go into autopilot in trying to care for myself. it's always a set time and mostly just muscle memory when it comes to taking care of myself. Twas another fun watchalong. Looking forward to having many more in the future. We understand that you have a lot you have to deal with right, and I can only imagine how draining it all is, so don't feel too bad about skipping out on reading and hearting our comments when you are feeling low energy. I hope that once everything calms down after FES and all that, you'll be able take a break and find time to relax and not have to deal with so much stress for a while. As always, appreciate all that you do for us. Take care till next time!

Thank you for the watchalong, Shiori! I'm glad that you've been able to have more co-streaming opportunities with showcases like these! The watchalongs have always been fun experiences and it's always nice getting to add some new games to the backlog. Appreciate you adding all of the games shown to the description as well. Makes it a lot easier to jog the memory and it was organized very neatly. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect for games here, but I did walk out of here with quite a few demos and wishlist additions. I already had some of them on my wishlist like Denshattack, Luna Abyss, and the new Moomin game, but the new ones that sparked my interest were Airframe Ultra, Among the Trolls, Awaysis, Call of the Elder Gods, Curse of Resthaven, Froggy Hates Snow, Nocturnal 2, Retail Hell, and Truckful. While I could see where some of the games in this showcase took inspiration from, like Hades, Diablo, The Forest, and Vampire Survivors/HoloCure, I did enjoy seeing how each dev put their own unique spin and personal touch into each game. The Seance of Blake Manor was one of the games I also played through the demo for, and I liked it quite a bit! I did feel a small rush to keep things within the time limit, but time only moves forward when you perform an action, examine something, or talk to someone from what I can recall. The only reason I felt pressed for time was solely due to me examining every single detail, but the demo took place outside of the manor for a bit, inside several rooms for the interior, and the puzzles were intuitive. The extra item examines I accumulated did help formulate some theories about events, and the way the information you've collected is organized was handled well in my opinion. I just have to set aside some time to play through the game in full now that I've got the full version. Would recommend it if you're able to find a slot in your own schedule for it though. I do think you'd enjoy it. In regards to the mention about people taking better care of their game character selves compared to our real selves, that's been something that's crossed my mind every so often, particularly when playing The Sims games over the years. It was very much easier to take care of several sims than to take care of basic needs for me back then, and arguably still today. For one, you've got visible meters showing you when your characters are satisfied while for us, it's just pure feeling and guess work to a degree. I'm not always going to wake up hungry, and if I end up playing games, then that'll pass the time until I do get hungry, though playing games does redirect more focus to external stimuli and at least for me it feels like thirst and hunger get drowned out until it's too noticeable to ignore. As I've grown older, I've managed to strike a decent balance on managing my health more, but naturally there's room for improvement. Just gotta take it day by day and do what I can when I can. Hope you enjoyed your noms in-between this stream and the collab and hope you have a good one, Shiori.
