5:26:38 I love this detail, because this is how most ancient literature works! A lot of the fantastical tales in many mythologies around the world are likely allegories to historical events. Most of them being oral traditions long before being written down on paper, stone, or whatever medium it’s recorded in. It’s just that overtime a game of telephone happens. This is actually what the story of Amaterasu and Susanoo in Japanese Shintoism is believed to be traced back to. And also, that particular legend is also a big source of inspiration for both Ei and Scara. As well as the Shogun Puppet too! ITS SO GOOD THE WRITING IN THIS GAME OMG

Thanks for the long stream! It's a damn shame a lot of Wanderers subsequent character development is locked behind limited events such as the Simulanka summer event. It might be worth watching someone's playthrough on YT just to get the story, especially since it's pretty important in setting up Wanderer and Durin's involvement in Nod Krai, along with giving Hexenzirkel lore.

and so the legend of Hat Guy begins also, idk if anyone has mentioned this but Wanderer's entire story can be pieced together by taking lyrics from Queen's hit song Bohemian Rhapsody seriously, just skim through the song and you'll find phrases that can be tied to Wanderer basically in every single line it's awesome! my personal favorites are probably "sometimes wish id never been born at all"(Irminsul erasure) and "any way the wind blows"(the end of the song, and his story as Scaramouche, but also the beginning of his life as Wanderer and his new Anemo Vision) Nahida's Storytelling to bypass Irminsul tampering is also one of the biggest lore reveals imo, because it means all those books and fairy tales scattered around the world could be REAL stories that actually happened, but were written down allegorically in order to preserve them permanently no matter what happened to the Ley Lines and the information within. it's a genius way of writing the background stories of the world into reality, i love it so much. ALSO!! when renaming Wanderer, if you try to name him Morax the text says [NOT AVAILABLE]. every other "wrong" name you can try he just scoffs at you and tells you to try again, but Morax SPECIFICALLY has a unique text popup calling his name unavailable. just in case you wanted any more reasons to suspect Zhongli of being the most secretive mysterious motherfucker in the game as for Natlan, sure the Archon Quest might be easier to blitz through but the understandings you get from the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons world quests are far too important to pass up, especially given how much Dragon and Moons lore is tied directly to the Archon Quests in Nod Krai. without the Natlan World Quests, like two thirds of the Nod Krai Archon Quest will be almost incomprehensible LMAOOOOO. it might seem like a lot of quests, but they're mostly pretty short single quests with your adorable Little One that you can pick up and stop easily whenever, so it won't feel like a drag once you're actually going through them i promise.

!! caught up on the vod today.... I knew I could trust you to recognize peak. Glad you enjoyed Wanderer's interlude quest so much!! He's absolutely their most fleshed out character in this entire game. We've been able to piece together his backstory with the "betrayals" long before sumeru, as he's had lore in version 1 and version 2 artifact sets (Pale Flame phys set has lore for multiple fatui- his is the goblet- and Husk of Opulent Dreams geo dmg set are ALL items pertaining to him) as well as additional tatarasuna lore in version 2 weapon descriptions. After Sumeru and this interlude quest, he was given more development in the summer event Simulanka in 2024. Then even MORE development in Nod-Krai and in Durin's story quest... the dev team love him so much. He may never have been meta but he is clearly so adored by the team and that's all that matters to me lololol I hope he keeps showing up forever

I just knew you'd see how peak Sacar's arc is. I understand Scara fans disappointed about not playing a fully villain guy, but man having a characters with this amount of layers makes it for the loss I swear! I hope I'll catch the next stream about Bedtime Story~

Even though Japan is a importantly targeted market for the game (and yeh mihoyo has a weeb vibe, like they test your anime watch history in employment for some positions), it doesn't mean it is ok to say that the "original" language of the game is Japanese... Japan is not the only market that is significant to the game and the origin of the game should not be seen as Japanese in any sense (almost like misattributing a Chinese work to Japan). Inazuma (稲妻) is based on the Edo period (江戸時代) of Japan and there are a lot of names and stuff in this chapter are designed presented in Japanese or like Japanese in English translation. But still the story and the game as a whole not initially created in Japanese language, due to which Japanese version of the game is also a part of "localization". Saying things like the "original" language of the game being Japanese is kind of erasing the originality of the Chinese writing of the game and the effort of the Chinese production team in intergrating Chinese literature references and Chinese memes, among other things, into this game, and misattributing stylistic influence or culture homage to derivation. I like your streams but I do feel uncomfortable to hear an expression like that. I want to make this comment because I truly appreciate the originality of Chinese language use in this game, not intend to be offensive in any way.
