Former LEO here... 'Lie Detector' tests are really only used for 1 thing now... law enforcement hiring. Everyone in law enforcement hates it because obviously it's junk science and our careers depend on not having a false accusation against us because of a bad polygraph, and who we have to work with and depend on for our lives also depends on it when bad people get through because they pass the lie detector. It needs to stop but the city/state/federal governments over the departments still insist on it. The questions of course just turn into political interrogations too. Same thing with the psych evals. In reality they're nothing but ruthlessly grilling you to ensure that your politics match the politicians, and it's the Democrat run governments that are incredibly insistent on these politically motivated hiring processes.

4:44:45 I would always pick non-human in any game if given the chance, and while I did so in Halo 3 purely for aesthetic purposes, I also found out it's better in the SWAT game mode because elites can't get headshot as easily from behind. They have a bigger silhouette so it's worse in nearly any other game mode. Nobody ever gave me grief for it though.

41:35 when I saw the Piers Morgan interview, I understood. He's well spoken and confident in his facts, and hearing him talk aout history hits all of the right brain buttons like the fun late night history channel shows used to when we were kids. But if you look beyond what he says to what he does, I don't think he or his followers can lead the country in a good direction. He doesn't appear to be able to build anything, but he's great at tearing things down. Perhaps one wall in particular, but perhaps also the fragile peace this nation still manages to cling onto.

What you say at these times doesn't necessarily reflect what you believe, rather it reflects what you believe the target *will find hurtful*. So rather than being signs of racism/sexism/<whatever>, it's arguably the opposite, as you would be less like to believe a given attack would "work" unless you believed it to be wrong (admittedly, there is also a certain amount of general social conditioning in what we expect to hurt others when we say it).

3:48:55 that reminds me: Day9, my StarCraft oshii, told a story about how he named the folder he saves game replays in "Horse P+r*". He would show off like 6 different replays a day as part of his show, and when he took viewer submissions he would have to sort through even more. The folder was 2 terabytes. He said the thought of someone snooping on his computer and having their day ruined by seeing a 2 terabyte folder named that full of video files was part of his scheme to arrange his life to constantly make himself giggle. Professional StarCraft caster's work folder can't even match this dude's g0on drive. Good grief.
