EN Timestamps! 6:06 Start 6:30 Jimaku-chan confusing Nijisanji pt.1: Gigi Sanji 6:50 Happy new year lol. Cause last ES zatsu was last year 7:22 Daylight Savings started today! So, coffee zatsus will start at 3pm pst again. 8:02 Today is windy so we might hear it during the asmr part. 8:20 “Rainy days, windy days, sunny days, always applies (like “is good to have”) a coffee” He said «Cafecito», which is «café» (coffee) in diminutive. 8:53 today’s recipe on screen! Is the one used by the Chilean barista Carlos Medina to win the Worlds Brewers Cup Champion in 2023. He points out how Carlos Medina did it with gear that was not super expensive and beans not so pricey too. 12:03 He thinks the barista used natural processed coffee so he will be using the only natural and not washed beans he has. 13:33 This recipe uses 15.5g of coffee!! He normally uses just 15g so it’s something to point out for the ones who usually follow the recipes he shares. 14:42 This recipe has some more steps because it requires more pours. On the screen you can read the details as usual. «vertir hasta» means “pour until”. Jimaku-chan did well, the wall text in 15:19 was correct and the ones following too. 15:52 ASMR time! 16:22 wind hitting his window! 16:38 He is weighing the coffee beans in cute Idk, don’t judge me. I just want to share happiness min min 16:50 “15.4g… one more bean, 15.6g… one smol (he used a diminutive so that’s my equivalent lol) one… there it is, 15.5g” 17:09 “Is not chamucos, just the wind” 17:51 (chat: scary, a chamuco) “If a chamuco comes we will parry and done” Jimaku-chan got it as « parrilla» or grill in eng. “I wanted to say parry but grill it also works” 19:53 grinding asmr! Jimaku-chan 10/10 21:00 the wind lol 21:14 “Maybe I made the yokai angry from playing too much Nioh last night” Niohdore. 21:57 “Don’ tas, don’ tás?” it comes from «¿dónde estás?» He was looking for his chronometer. The only comparison I have in mind now is the one used for words ending in -ing, like gettin’. A variation is “onde?” and comes from «¿dónde?» we just make short words even shorter. I think it is because in general Spanish is a fast spoken language and it flows easier without another D. You can try pronouncing both to feel the difference. This has no grammar rule other than the flow of speaking, and it’s informal. 23:41 pouring starts 25:03 “My professionalism ruined by hurricane winds” LMAO it is strong. Clarifies is not a hurricane, just being dramatic about it. 28:35 – 28:56 sipping sound! 28:57 end of ASMR 29:24 Coffee is a bit stronger than what he usually drinks. With his usual recipe he feels more the tamarind and mango notes, but with this one the highlight was chocolate and blackberry notes. He is curious of how this (recipe) would affect other beans. 31:13 That maybe a variation for this recipe without changing its essence would be to start with 50g, pour 50g or 100g and finally the rest. So, it’s just 3 pours and the result is not as strong. He doesn’t consider this cup of coffee bad, he said it is pretty good and has a pleasant bitterness if you like it that way (more strong, not so tea-like). Another alternative is to grind the coffee coarsely. 33:05 (chat: if you use less water the coffee with came out more clear (light)?) Jimaku-chan 8.7/10 for the answer. Less pours (times) = light coffee. Less water (volume) =strong coffee. 35:00 When he drinks bitter or strong coffee as this one, he has something sweet, and for the lighter type of coffees something saltier or like a middle point. He has his usual cups with bagels with cream cheese and jam. 36:04 It would go well with sweet bread, maybe not conchas but something on those lines. He said the «piedras» which literally means rocks lmao. Google search «piedras pan dulce». He said they are like a mix of bread and a cookie. Freo said piedras are known as «pan de señor» or “bread for old man” along with «cochinos»… I just discovered you can eat a cochino LMAO. It seems there are different ways to call it, the one with more results on google is «marranitos de piloncillo» but it’s also called cochinito, chichimbré, puerquitos de piloncillo, etc. Cochino, Puerco and Marrano are different (and colloquial but widely used in all LATAM) ways to say pig, all of them in diminutive when used to name this bread. So adding -ito after the last consonant. I want to explain more but this isn’t a textbook and I need to shorten this ueue. 38:28 “Kids wants conchas, donuts, torcidos (Google «torcido de hojaldre»)” 39:06 He didn’t remember the name of one so went to search for it “Types of sweet bread” his voice HAHAHAHA 39:39 A sweet empanada would be good for this coffee. A sweet pineapple or guava empanada. 40:29 Doremin said in JP “Empanadas! I sometimes see them in Japan too”. And Furi just “eh? There are empanadas in Japan? Woah… provecho” he is curious if they have more salty or sweet empanadas, because the traditional/normal is salty like cheese or meat fillings. 41:23 Mentioning how the bread culture in Japan has a bit of influence from Portugal and Spain and maybe that’s why pan (ES) is the same in JP. Internet says it was introduced in the 16th century by Portuguese traders. So it would not be that surprising if JP has empanadas. 42:19 “If you think about it, taiyaki is like an empanada right? Like a red bean empanada” …mmh idk furi LMAO 44:55 He is telling how he tried an “abomination” that was a mix between a madeleine and a concha (sweet bread) with «cajeta» filling. It was too sweet. 45:57 So, in Argentina con concha means another thing... A doremin wrote “My Argentinian brain can’t with this conversation” and freo replace the word to the one in eng mixing both languages with a “bougie” tone 46:45 Anya Taylor-Joy’s “Dulce de leche” but freo version. 48:14 If he wants to get sushi it would be nigiris. The fish, rice and seaweed. “No «pipirisnais» or «Mi gente latino» roll” HELP LMAO. So, in latam is normal to find really experimental(? Sushi that tries to accommodate the local palate. It gets really creative. As an example with one here, it uses the ripe/ sweet plantain as seaweed, salted rice colored with achiote, chicharron, fresh salted cheese and a traditional peanut-corn seasoning as coating :D 49:03 he prefers salmon, tuna and eel. Wants to try the sea urchin. 52:15 When he was in JP he got like 2 onigiris, a sweet bread and a cup of coffee in a konbini as breakfast before doing the activities they had planned for the day. He liked salt and salmon onigiris, tuna not really. Salt was his fav. 53:40 “What is the Champions breakfast in LATAM? A bolillo (white bread, not sweet) and a coca c0la? Nah I think that’s too mexican… cigarett3s?” LMAO. He reads some comments, in general it is bread with either cheese or butter, eggs sometimes with sausages or cheese and coffee. 55:20 He haven’t tried «salchipapa» but wants to. There is not much expectative cause honestly the ingredients are simple, but it’s an experience doremin, I do recommend you to try it your favorite mayo and a cold drink as a comfort food. 56:34 He doesn’t drink soda often and if he does is a Doct0r Pepper or Ging3r Ale. Nowadays he prefers coffee, water, «aguas frescas» and coconut water. 58:35 He doesn’t like cucumbers because of the texture but enjoys «agua de pepino» 1:00:50 “I have a very important question that has been on my mind since for a long time and I wanted to ask it in the next es zatsu. I’m gonna do a pool… what genre is the Nintendo Switch?” I don’t even know what I was expecting lol. He explains he has heard the 2. El Nintendo Switch and La Nintendo Switch. That Switch sounds masculine, “Why it would be “la” (feminine)? La Switch sounds bad, is El Switch” Switch is not a real word for anymore heLP. Doremin said because is LA consola (console) Switch, and Furi replies “If u said LA consola it makes sense but you are just saying switch” and doremin just “Because today is Women’s day” More in the replies!!

Thank you for the stream, Freo! I've always felt that you seem more at ease during Español zatsu streams. It’s so much fun to watch Studying noun genders in Spanish or other Romance languages is so difficult, so hearing you discuss the genders of game consoles and the Nintendo Switch survey was really intriguing! Also, your thoughts on exchanging ideas and differing opinions were very insightful. The part about how it’s a reflection of trust in our own thoughts really stayed with me. Looking forward to the next stream!
