thank you for another cozy ketchup yap stream. If you ever do plan to stream FFXIV it would be nice to get a heads up on what world to set up in so servers don't crash. I'm not a big raid person in mmos because I remember having to socialize to get parties up for them, but I do frontlines pvp and it sounds like the same type of horror stories but with friendly fire; granted I am no exemption to that toxicity as I've had malding moments.Since you shared a horror story from FFXIV I'll share some back: - Because I play pvp my classes get leveled a lot without me having to do the class quests or play in the normal mode. I decide to try Red Mage outside pvp, and things go well enough for a few days, no one says anything in all types of trials, dungeons, or raids up to Stormblood content ( _my max at the time_ ). I get placed in one of the ARR raids, and after the first boss, a healer in the party chat starts telling me how to play, because they notice I'm not doing optimal rotations for max dps. I try and be cordial and try to understand the skill rotation they want me to do but default into doing what I had been before. After another boss fight where they kept telling me I was playing wrong and know I wasn't listening to their advice because they had been watching the battle chat log for skills I used ( _as this is happening we hit the final boss_ ) I admittedly crash out. I keep trying to leave the raid but I can't because its mid battle, and the player keeps healing me so I can get back into the fight when I just want to stay dead and leave ( _I think I had accepted revives because I didn't want to seem like the issue to the other alliances/party members iirc_ ); eventually the others kill the boss but not before the forceful tutor berated me for being a baby. Since the person was so toxic about how Red Mages MUST be played as a Red Mage main, I swore to myself to not play the class for instances like raids, trails, or dungeons ever again. ( _Edited this part for more clarity, hopefully_ ) - On a positive side, but won't detail here because I yapped enough about FFXIV, when nobody else will do shot calling in Frontlines ( _which is pretty often_ ) I will try to do callouts. One time I got almost all full comms from my party, and another time I experienced a mutiny from someone while I had lead us to a strong lead around mid-to-late game ( _we were a few points off from securing the W_ ) from someone and their friends who kept insulting me in chat. After I backed down to just vibe with my k-pop playlist they promptly tanked us from #1 to last, and in the last handful of minutes of that match, I got to see everyone stick up for my call shot making, before proclaiming those people cost us the match by wanting to be the hot shot agro pvper. Even after the game, one of the players who shared my world, reached out to me to reassure me I wasn't in the wrong from what those players had been telling me in chat, and encouraged me to report them for some of the things they said. The having to take a moment to remember your HetShips was so real for me. I don't know if I am biased because a part of me is just tired of seeing potential queer romance stories be ruled out with HetRomance story decisions, but I feel like for straight romance story telling the bar for what qualifies as "good enough to cheer or push for" is very low, and because of that we don't get as many noticeable or memorable HetRomance stories; so I don't have many anymore. That said, I do like my romcom tropes, but as long as they bring something new to the story even if its a change as basic as making it a gay romance with the usual romcom tropes to their romance story. On a final note, about Kohai, I think whatever future Kohai you hypothetically may end up getting would look forward to collab or play with you. That is even something I currently got to vaguely understand getting yeeted into Riona's stream yesterday. From what I understood she named you as someone she considered trying the raid feature on, but because she was pretty early into her stream decided not to do after thinking it out loud.
