Frost must have won the child custody battle just before the final and prevented Gusto from seeing their son, which meant he couldn't win the final without his taste tester. So Gusto murdered him so he couldn't submit the court documents

Maybe we'll come back to it but it feels like we kinda glossed over the most alarming part of this case, that an elementary school child just disappeared without a trace and no one apparently cared

Okay now it's obvious why Frost won the custody battle for their sons, Gusto probably came to court like "Wait you can't take away my taste tes—er, my son, who I love" and lost the case
