It is perfectly valid that Maelle wants to stay in the canvas as well. In the outside world she is unable to speak , is in constant pain and she is a horrifically scarred girl living in France in 1905 with two World Wars right around the corner. Her life outside the canvas is going to be extremely rough, if she even survives to become old. In the canvas she does not have to deal with her injuries and she can live a full life with her friends. Perfectly understandable she would choose that. Just because not everyone gets that choice does not mean she should be robbed of it.

ive never seen anyone choose Verso's ending so quickly haha the way i see it, the canvas for Maelle is like a drug, a coping mechanism, which is using at the expense of herself, Verso's soul, and painted Verso. even Clea said "if Aline wants to numb herself in the canvas" ... so it's definitely, yeah, an addiction, they need to move forward lol

I'm so proud to see so many chose Verso's ending knowing it's the right choice; it is. I've seen it said many times, "there are no good endings" but that's false. There are no _happy_ endings but Verso's is clearly the good ending. Letting Maelle destroy herself at the massive expense of her family while they're already hurting and the agony of Verso can't be a good ending when there's no hope for a future. The only bad thing about Verso's ending is the residents of the canvas are effectively killed but with their existential dilemma in perspective, better to painlessly wipe it away than be reduced to serving as Maelle's hard copium. They're doomed either way. I assume this is your last go at this game but if you do decide to continue it for the post-game challenges, _good freaking luck_ taking on the Flying Manor, Renoir's Drafts, Verso's Drafts, and the (not so) Endless Tower.

I've seen people says ""Maelle's ending is actually good .. People of Lumiere get to live , Maelle is happier here"" Man .. you're actually insane , lemme tell you that ... even my Daughter who loved Esquie so much and picked maelle ending for Esquie hated the ending

I knew you’d probably change your mind about Verso in the end lol, even with the Gustave convo with Maelle. Nevertheless, I picked Maelle’s ending because, to me, the canvas is clearly alive, and it’s the world I’m familiar with, not the one outside it. The people in it aren’t "they’re humans exactly" alive, but they’re alive enough that I felt like, yeah, you guys get a say in this, so I’ve got you. We got mad when people died. We felt sad. The people inside reacted the same way. They were sad, afraid, and they cared. Hell, the game kept hammering it in how these people just kept taking L after L. They can’t live normal lives. They’re barely surviving most of the time. That doesn’t feel fake or disposable to me. So yeah, for me it was an easy choice. Maelle gets to decide how she wants to live or die. Verso keeps his word and keeps playing that damned piano. The people, at least for a moment, get to live something closer to a normal life. What happens after isn’t my problem. If Maelle dies, that was her choice. If she lives, cool. There are way too many variables to guess what comes next, honestly. And that’s part of why it’s the more interesting ending. Maybe it just delays their doom, maybe not, but there’s still hope it can be better. The game doesn’t continue past the ending, so we don’t get answers, and that’s fine. Still, it’d be cool if something eventually addressed what happens next.

The Verso ending people are truly repugnant. I cannot stand them. "If you choose Maelle's ending you're insane" Well you're insane for acting as though the inhabitants of The Canvas mean nothing. They have every right to exist as the Dessendre family does.
